I don't think matt is trying very hard, or trying too hard, or doesn't know how to try. I'm disappointed.

I haven't seen the documentary, but I'm sure a review of it said the tension between him and his brother was because Matt has always had everything come to him easily, whereas Luke had to try hard. I think that's definitely reflected in his dancing too - not trying enough, just expects to do well.
