Sara must be gutted Aljaz is out of the country. But at least she gets to be emergency back-up to Amy and Tom.

Sad for Neil but good that he is speaking out. It's mad that so many dancers leave home so early. I remember Gio talking about how he moved to Bologna from Sicily aged 14 on his own!

Pasha was about that age too when he moved away from home to dance. Tough for the parents too and I think Pasha’s parents were quite poor (it’s been ages since I read his book) so they were torn between him staying home and forgetting his dream or moving away to stay with another family and fulfilling his potential
 
Sara presenting with Rav Wilding this morning on Morning Live, she’s got some dodgy looking hair extensions. She’s making hay isn’t she, Morning Live is a bit like Hollyoaks and Holby, anyone can get a job.
FWIW I like Sara , I hope she doesn’t turn into a fame hungry Instagram type, she’s better than that.

If I remember correctly, when Kai was on BGT when he was 16, his partner Natalia who was 15? was staying with them as she was from another country. May have remembered it wrong though. Considering he won the Junior World Latin at 15, he probably spent a lot of time travelling before that. When Aliona retired after winning with Jay she said she’d been competing for 25 years! i trained for a bit aged 13-14 and there were dancers my age who were much much further ahead than I was, and regularly did the Blackpool competitions. If Strictly was around then I would have definitely stuck at it as it is SO much more glamorous these days. I did meet Len, who judged at our club sometimes though.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Oti and think she’s an incredible dancer/choreographer but what does she know about ice skating? Same with Ashley Banjo

Torvill and dean give more of the 'technique' critique and ashley and oti will give the more of the 'performance' critique.

One thing is for sure Oti wont be back to strictly.

She looks absolutely beautiful in that dress though 😍

She's judged (or will be judging) three shows now. Every time she does, people say that she will leave Strictly. :rolleyes:

I just wish they’d go back to the earlier series with Robin Cousins, Karen Barber etc, people who have professionally ice skated/coached, understand the sport.
Saying that though, Oti did a good job on The Greatest Dancer so I look forward to seeing what she does with DOI
 
I am a bit of an ice dance fan, although I have never watched Dancing on Ice apart from that one time my mum made me go with her to the live tour, in proper Olympic Ice Dancing the dances are based around a ballroom dance like Rumba or Tango and you are marked on these elements too.
Ice dancers learn to do the proper ballroom elements off Ice before it's transferred on ice.

I can't see Oti coming back to Strictly now I will be sad to see her go.

There were comments in the press back in August/September saying that this series would be her last but I don’t think she ever said that herself. I can see her bowing out now that she’s won twice and her media career is secure but maybe she’ll be back since neither DOI or The Masked Dancer clash with Strictly. It’s a job she loves with a decent pay cheque and it’s still the biggest show in the UK.

I’ve been a fan of Oti since she danced with Danny and she used to talk in interviews back then about all her dreams for her career and I’m thrilled that she’s making them happen. But I’d really miss her on Strictly. She’s the best female pro IMO.
