I’m sorry I’m going to really ask a random question but I’m desperate right now. My daughter is on night 4 with chicken pox, this is the worst night yet, I think we’ve had about half hour sleep. She’s absolutely plastered, the cream gives a 10 minute relief if that. Is there anything anybody can suggest please

Poor wee soul . My nephew just had chicken pox and his mum said calamine lotion was the only thing that really helped him. I also remember my mum bathing me in it when I had it as a child. Not sure if that’s the cream you’re already using or not. Hope she feels better soon.

Aw ma darlin god luv ye I hope the wee one is better soon. I've not dealt with chickenpox for years but I used to use calamine lotions and during the day an oat bath sorry I'm not much help. I take it calpol and that aren't helping? Hope u both get some sleep soon ❤

I second that an oat bath. You poor wee things Piritonn, Calpol and Calprofen every 4 hours. Also I found the calamine lotion cream way better than the bottle as its thicker and cooling. Fingers crossed for you of you're day 4 you've only got 1 day of itching left

I had chicken pox when I was 17 and trust me it’s horrendous! This stuff works brilliant, use it with antihistamines and the oat baths

Having a bath in Nizoral shampoo might help as well. I remember a GP telling me to do that with my boy when he had it years ago. Coating the spots in egg white also creates a barrier and stops scratching and scarring if they pick. Egg white is also great for nappy rash in babies. Top tip here but using hibiscrub or Nizoral to wash your face and body with twice a week was recommended to me by my dermatologist I am prone to bad eczema breakouts if I get stressed and it’s great stuff.
