He’s so gorgeous and talented. I still watch his American Idol performances which were a performance masterclass. Best contestant ever in my opinion.

I thought he looked amazing but a little puffy and smoothed out, like his skin was made of plastic. I really hope he doesn’t start with the fillers and ruin that lovely face.

I’m now intrigued by this ridiculous show. Where do these performers come from? Was there a previous qualifying round? It seems weird to be getting peoples’ backstories so early on.

Not really. On Stars In Their Eyes we used to get a little video and background information on the contestant before they did their performance

On The X Factor and BGT and some other talent shows you sometimes heard a bit about their history and why they wanted to do the show

Hearing contestants backstories is nothing new at this stage of the competition

Same. I still watch his Idol performances on YouTube. I loved his version of Mad World. I also think he is their best contestant ever. He's amazing ❤️
 
So I missed the show last night because Mr Rita absolutely refuses to have it on - no idea why.

I thought, eh… no biggie, it’s shite anyways. So I’m ashamed to admit (or am I…?) that this morning I raced downstairs to watch it on catch up because I had FOMO from this thread.

I don’t know who I am anymore.

That was an incredible performance. So was his version of Black and White… amazingly sexy. That strut! He is a stunning performer. Very very talented but also someone who I think has worked incredibly hard studying and perfecting his performance for many years and becoming the ultimate professional. Doing this show just seems completely at odds with his brand.

I’ll get off the subject now - it’s just that seeing him on this last night out of the blue was a bit of a shocker 😆. Of course now I need to keep watching!

I have to hand it to Bev and Sheridan. They really are committing to their performances. The tears and literal jaw-drops of astonished admiration for the contestants were a nice touch. 😃
