Sophie is exactly the person I’d expect to report someone for ‘catcalling’ in an attempt to get them fired, then brag about it.
Not at all saying that it is an acceptable thing to do (for the men) but you can imagine her being all smug inside about it, especially if the guys were younger. Like she bragged about the guys in their early 20s giving her attention.

She needs to understand, she’s not that special! It happens to women all the time.
I’ve actually worked in the construction industry for nearly 10 years. (I’m a female, btw and I had to deal with men face to face with their “banter” and innuendos) and as bad as it sounds, when people would call up and complain about x, y, z, it wouldn’t get dealt with. It would just be lip service to the person complaining.
if this person who allegedly got sacked was a builder or scaffolder, either on the books or a subbie, it’s not hard for them to find new jobs! They leave businesses all the time to chase money.

It’s not acceptable to be harassed when going out in public while minding your own business . It’s just not ok to be ok with that.
the fact it happens so much there is scary and more women need to speak up and show it’s not ok.
Im confused there are women here, who are not only ok with a fellow women being harassed, but also mad that she stood up for herself.

It’s not acceptable no, but since this Sophie there’s probably (valid imo) assumption by most on this thread that the harassment didn’t happen / happen to the extent she portrays.

Someone probably whistled at her or just told her to smile (if!) and she’s calling it harassment.
We (as women) need to also not call everything “harassment” when we don’t like something or just disagree with someone else’s behaviour.
I think we can agree that if she was seriously harassed we would stand by her side but it’s Sophie we are talking about.

Urgh, fur coat. Disgusting.
Would she wear Hendrix as a muff if he was skinned alive?

Do people get flour or paint thrown on them for wearing fur as they did the 90s??

Just looks so bad, it’s supposed to fit, not everything is made for an oversized look.

And I’m sick of her hair cutting stories. FFS just either do it or don’t. 🙄

What did she say happened? I’ve not listened to it.

I didn’t listen but last year she told the story about a van driving (construction workers) by and making stupid comments/catcalling/whistling while she was filming/taking pictures. She then went to search for the company, called them and reported their behaviour. Back then she was extremely proud of herself and went on for days and days about it.

Harassment to me is for example following someone, threatening them, inappropriate touching, but that’s just me.
What happened to her is annoying (we’ve all been there) we can agree to this, but is it harassment and enough/worth to get someone fired?

I probably wouldn’t ever go to the effort of looking someone up to make a complaint and get them fired (I have a job and Sophie famously has a lot of time on her hands) but I don’t feel bad for anyone who’s got fired AT ALL whilst catcalling on the job. It is harassment and can be deeply uncomfortable, and if I owned a construction company I’d hate to think of my employees roaming the city in my branded vans yelling at women. It’s ok to not like Sophie but also hold men to a slightly higher standard than ‘they didn’t attack her so we’ll just pass it off as an inconvenience’…

Agree She has way too much time on her hands and although i hateeee the term, is turing into a bit of a karen.

I'm going to look at it from this angle, that ogling women, saying sexually suggestive things to them is never OK while at work (or out if it but for the sake of what Sophie is saying happened let's stick to while at work) these catcallers are letting down the company and bringing it into disrepute. Who wants to hire a company where the workers will behave like this while they are meant to be professional. The headache when your employees complain about an unsafe working environment etc.

Anyone making women feel uncomfortable like that while representing their company needs a disciplinary meeting with their boss / hr etc.

Might think I'm being too uptight or making more of it than it was but I don't believe I am. Things like that escalate and what might be seen as acceptable gets ever pushed forward. What if they were catcalling a 14 year old etc.? These guys know it makes women uncomfortable and scared, it's a power trip to show off infront of each other and make the victim feel dehumanised and humiliated.

Sophie is just (sadly) very unlikeable at the moment (well since 2020) it is hard to take anything she says seriously now. Coupled with she is not looking too good at the moment and is forever taking opportunities to point out how attractive she believes she is, labouring it to the point where it is irritating and tiresome. Girl, cut your hair into a cute Hailey Bieber Bob, take out the extensions from your hair, nails, lashes and lay off the filler / tox. Stop trying to emulate this luxury bullshit with the billion chanel bags, luxury mansion block nonsense and be the middle class girl you are. Authenticity works.

Also, please please never wear the ungodly fur again. 🤮
