Whilst the podcast rating has given Sophie an even bigger head, she needs to come back down to earth because she has not even lasted 24 hours in the top spot and has already been knocked out of the top 100.

The rankings are from how many people subscribed or listened in a short amount of time and it is changing by the hour for every podcast on the app.

Apple also goes as far as saying 'The rankings do not reflect all-time listening records, and are not a measure of the largest podcasts by listenership.'

Basically, if when Sophie launched her podcast and 10 of her minions jumped on to subscribe and listen, that quick activity is what caused her to jump to top spot.
 
No doubt she has a few hundred or even a few thousand die hard fans that probably listened. Or fans of Mammia that would automatically check out a new pod released. All that aside, I'm sure it's garbage and any listeners will drop off extremely quickly at which time it will get quickly dumped. She will be caterpaulted off any charts (which don't reflect actual reality) within the next few days or weeks. I once again beg of you all please don't hate listen and inflate her ego even further

Is it true you can pay for advertising on the apple app and pay for your placement? It’s something I heard which would make sense

You can pay for your podcast to be shown at the top of the list, however it doesn't count as a ranking and will have a little label under the heading saying 'Sponsored'
 
She read here and just wants you to know that she’s been number one all day, just fyi.
and it’s now known as episode 1 not episode 0 but it’s hard to keep track of your lies when your feeling blah ok?

She was only ‘#1 all day’ in her little obscure category because there is not much competition and probably no one else released an episode in the same time frame. In the ‘open’ category she is no where near number one…never let the truth get in the way of a good story hey chomps
