yeah it is really disappointing, like most of us here I used to like her, saw her live a couple of times and listened to her podcast sometimes... but then having started to look at her social media..It really doesn’t make sense. The amount of mental gymnastics going on to scramble to justify the blatant hypocrisy... I’ve barely been looking at the stories anymore but it sounds like nothings changed

I feel like the pandemic has definitely made it worse, I mean that, I really don’t remember Sofie being like this before, seems to have gotten like this in the last 6-8 months?
I think I’m still a fan otherwise, and Sofie definitely says some valuable things in captions etc, but generally, following them on SM has been really off putting

Yeah, I think it's possibly because of the pandemic, meaning they had to focus more on online sources of income. This meant putting out more/different social media content, which possibly resulted in a lot more people engaging with them and/or having views on what they were talking about. Maybe that was overwhelming for them and they felt the need to impose boundaries. I get that. But the way they go about it is so awful and honestly I actually think they end up being someone that embodies so many of the things they claim to detest!

This is a really interesting perspective and makes a lot of sense! So much of the content seems removed from her previous work too (like the home redecoration stuff), like a sort of desperate grab at other themes of content. And maybe it is stressful, but there's always the option to... not post. Especially when what you're posting is rude comments!

I followed Sofie for a long time, loved her work on fatphobia and felt she had a good grasp of intersectional feminism.
Realised over time that she really doesn’t have a good grasp of anything.
She bought a designer dog from a breeder because it looked good and she wanted a dog that looked like a hippo for her social media. She wouldn’t ever admit that to herself but it’s true. She has no idea what she is doing with Hank. She’s made zero effort to socialise him. She did a video consult with a vet because she didn’t realise that her dog had nipples. Her vet must have groaned when they got off the call.
She has PTSD. But not that normal PTSD all you other idiots have. No she has a special kind. Which means she gets a free pass for everything. She gets to lie in bed all day and not walk Hank because trauma. And she wants paying on her Patreon for that time too.
She isn’t a she now. But she is. She’s also a they and a he. Apparently.
She’s a socialist. But she’s an influencer now. So she will be sharing her earnings equally with the state, I assume. Or maybe she just actually has no idea how socialism works.
Her comedy is ok. She could keep doing that. But she seems to want us all to pay her for simply existing and that’s the point at which I unfollowed.

I really do feel so sorry for poor Hank, why would you get a dog when you can barely leave the house, it’s just so selfish! A cat would have been more appropriate if it’s just for company

He‘s her possession, not her pet. Hence all the projection onto him. She doesn’t need to do any of that normal dog owner stuff with him because he’s special, and she’s special.
I have two dogs, and always had them growing up and I have to say he looks utterly bored and miserable. When she posts him looking out of the window I feel genuinely upset, he deserves better. He deserves somebody who will put the time in to walk him at least once a day, preferably twice. Somebody who will take him to a dog park to socialise with other dogs.
He doesn’t give a tit about the fancy dog wallpaper she’s put behind his feed bowls, he wants to be able to behave like a dog, not a doll.
When she first got the dog she said he cried when he was sad. Like he was some sort of empath. I knew it was entropion. Three months later... he has surgery for entropion. She’s a moron.

pretty sure she's sanctimoniously declared that cats suck and cat people suck. but yes, she absolutely should have gotten a cat and it would have suited her way better.
And despite the really not liking cats, Sofie has mentioned a few times considering getting a cat for Hank to have a play buddy (since apparently he always watches cats from the window and seems to want to play with them)?
... Don’t know how serious Sofie was being about that though

I haven’t been keeping up with stories lately, is Sofie genuinely not taking him out for proper daily walks? Or still just letting him out for a bit in the garden type as a substitute for actual walks?

Yes! You can't buy your way out of your dog's need for walks by purchasing loads of plastic tat for them.
I also feel really sorry for Hank. He deserves so much better. And even if he eventually gets adopted by someone else the poor thing will be so unsocialised.

He’ll be gone by this time next year
I think it will be before then, it will be even worse for him when lockdown is over and he is left alone in the apartment a lot of the time
