I don't know, think I just assumed there must be some kind of familial safety net as I cannot imagine she's making enough money from whatever it is she does to finance living alone in London, expensive dog breed, Peleton bike and sub, brand new top range tech etc. Most of these types seem to come from considerable wealth.

There used to be a closed FB group for the guilty feminist that I was in, it was really good anyone who was a member could post, lots of interesting discussions. Not sure what happened but there was some kind of argument that I missed, next thing only admin can post and spfie left the podcast

It kicked off over the question of mixed sex/gender neutral bathrooms at gigs. Sophie was extremely proud that she had negotiated with all the venues on their mini tour that the loos were made mixed sex, most often by dint of popping an “all genders“ sign on the ladies, and leaving the gents untouched. Some people posted that,sadly, due to anxiety and PTSD, this then rendered the shows inaccessible to them, as they were unable to attend if there were no female only facilities, due to being unable to share facilities with males.

Sophie then accused them of being closet bigots, and said that anyone who didn’t agree with the policy could duck off and that she didn’t want any bleeping TERFs at the shows anyway. She doubled down on it, and it became clear she had no real idea of what “inclusion” looks like for anyone, and was thoroughly unpleasant and aggressive. Posts closed, comments deleted, total tit show and it all went offline for a day or two, before reappearing under New Management. She left the show not long after. Now, regardless of your position on trans matters, that’s an extraordinary way to react to your fans.

Thanks for the explanation! Such a shame, I ended up meeting a couple of people I met on the page in real life, had been a really interesting online space
