Thank you. I was worried I would get shot down for mentioning it. There's no need to be derogatory about Africa or Africans with this sort of "white is right mentality" their lifestyle and foods are different and it's fine to be different.
I feel for her in the sense that she's not sure about things like she used to be. She always has to check with him about the name of where they are going like she can't remember the name. Like a ploy to be dumb so he can show how amazing he is by remembering the name.. Why wouldn't she know the name or remember it. It's her country. If anything it should be him that can't remember it. That's what gets me about it. It's like she's scared to show when she knows more than him.

Not even just the cooking. So many comments that 100% would not be made if he was white. So glad someone said it

It's like some people have never been outside the UK, home town, front door. Lol. Even the whole concept that he's using her or cheating on her etc is based on stereotypes of black men. Maybe he is maybe he isn't. Same like any other man. As a group We need to do better by not tolerating racism here.
The derogatory language used when talking about Nigerian/African cooking and food on this thread is becoming somewhat of a trend that is becoming increasingly uncomfortable to read. Shockingly, there are different cultures/cuisines outside of England/English food - wow!

If you don’t like the look of it, fine, you’re not eating it! But there’s no need for the racist undertones 🥴

I think the turkey neck and that meat soup thing look absolutely rank,- it has nothing to do with it being’ Nigerian ’ cooking.
I’m not much of a meat eater, so for me it looks particularly unpleasant. Looking at someone eating steak tartare or Frois gras (sp) would have the same affect on me.
As for him using Jess- I think he is!
She’s a grown up though and it’s on her if she’s too naive to see it, or she does and she just doesn’t care!

If I’m wrong and they last the course, then I’ll hold my hands up and wish them all the best- for me though, there’s something completely off about him.
Don’t care where he comes from or what colour he is.

Being a fiancé is her only personality trait at the moment, good lord.

Okay? I’m talking about comments like ‘foul African cooking’ ‘Nigerian lazy duck’ that he ‘should be reminded what country he’s in’, and if he’s allergic to ‘white food’ when they literally had 2 Nigerian dishes at their engagement party SHOCK HORROR😅 I literally would have expected more since they’re a multi cultural couple!

There are also many generalisations based on his racial background that he’s with her to get a green card, to take her money, to take her house, to stay in the country - he‘s educated to a degree&masters level, in this country - he could very easily get a good job here and stay, since he is a skilled worker.

And that’s only a few comments I’ve read on this thread 🥴

Simply saying you don’t like the look of food is fine - it just doesn’t need to be turned into derogatory comments about someone’s culture, background and country, and if you haven’t done that then great my comment doesn’t relate to you!

Wow. Really... Foul African cooking..... That's a whole continent you are dissing right there. Fair enough, tripe and goat with fish doesnt sound a good combo to me either... But "foul African cooking" ... That's really really really racist.

U
That African stuff she cooks looks absolutely foul.....im allowed my opinion. Calm down.

Absolutely think he is using her , i think its a totally rushed relationship and i see zero chemistry. Why make it about what colour he is. The food jess cooks for him looks like shite, i personally dont like food like that, calling it african cooking is not racist, its literally is African. Also yes i have been outside my door and the uk and also am entiled to have an opinion.

That African stuff is such a weird language use. You could say you don’t like food without calling it “African stuff” but that is something for you to think about why you’d say that. You do know how many countries are in Africa? It’s Nigerian. As for calling him lazy, I’m glad somebody brought that up too, somebody by the @peteburnsreincarnated…. username keeps mentioning. He works and studies - where is your logical reasoning coming from? Your hole?

Not that any of my above comment is looking for a response. Specifically that Pete username seems like a nasty fucker - don’t bother yourself to respond to me - not interested.

Jess calls the food african, she goes to the african food shop so she can buy african ingredients to cook her african boyfriend food. Have a day off 🙄

Agree with the comments about ✨undertones✨. I think he certainly uses her to an extent for a nice house/gifts etc, but without giving myself away too much, I don’t think people realise how difficult “green cards” and spousal visas are to obtain from the home office these days😂. Trust me, just because you are married to a British citizen, it does not mean you will be entitled to remain in the UK. I’ve seen plenty of marriages when a husband or wife are refused indefinite right to stay in the UK. doesn’t matter if you work/pay taxes/contribute whatever, you can still be refused and MANY people are.

Hi Jess, My adopted brother is literally from Zambia but ok 😂 the food looks like tit, I can’t lie. And he does seem lazy to me, he does nothing around the house, big deal he has a job, so duck

No one is saying people are being racist because they think he’s dodgy or they simply don’t like certain foods, and that is quite clear in the posts.

But it’s comments such as ‘he needs to be reminded what country he’s in’ ‘is he allergic to white food’ ‘lazy Nigerian duck’ ‘bet her house stinks of foul African cooking’ all have racist undertones and are xenophobic and there is no denying it.

Also the allusion to him taking her for a ride cos he wants a free pass; he’s in it for the money; he’s a ‘lazy Nigerian duck’ all stem from the fact that he’s not from this country.
