yep that’s my thought too. Easier to get residency visa when you’re married ( and have a kid) than to work and find someone to sponsor your stay.

I got engaged in October and had set my date by December and had everything booked by March because I didn’t want prices to go up been with my fiancé 7 years though

I actually feel quite sad for Jess. She seems so desperate to keep this man she's willing to change herself into someone else. And when he was doing his speech at the engagement party, instead of gushing about his love for Jess - the first thing he mentions is her parents "sweet" house I'd be very concerned if I was her mother.
It all seems so quick too - from meeting him to setting a date. she barely knows this fella, and she's away marrying him? This marriage is doomed I'm telling you - there's little to no chemistry between them, she snaps at him and gives little digs (even at the engagement party) If she's not happy with things he's doing NOW, why on earth is she entering into a potentially life long partnership with him?? She acts more like his sister than wife to be in my opinion.
The way he keeps disappearing at important dates/times, and she doesn't know where he is - remember Christmas Day too? Red flags are waving wildly Jess, don't be so bloody stupid and cool it all down. If you genuinely love this man - and he loves you too, what's wrong with just dating for a few years! get to know each other PROPERLY and see of he's stuck around! If you both still feel the same - THEN set a date to be married. Unless there's a reason for the rush? Hmmmm. This will end in tears, and they won't be his.

I just DONT GET the rush to get married in this day and age- honestly don’t get it whatsoever surly using the money to travel before you have the responsibility of kids or getting a larger home would be more important
