Not to be taking sides, but I think most people in the country will have heard of Swords. It's the third largest town in the country after Dundalk and Drogheda and it's about 2 minutes from the Airport.
I'd equate never knowing Swords existed to not knowing about Navan, Bray, Letterkenny, or Athlone.
