Long one. The game is deffo up for Shiv.

I remember when she used to make salad bowls with those kerrigans turkey burgers and loads of different veggie bits etc & seemed to actually try to eat like a normal person. She wasn’t binge drinking 3/4 times a week and her training had structure & a goal. This was a while after her show, and i followed bc i had also struggled after doing a show & thought well if she came back from the binge then I can too. (Thankfully I did, and much more successfully than Shiv)

She looked far healthier & didn’t seem to be trying to keep up with everyone else & their dogs & failing miserably.
She had far more appeal as an “influencer” back then.

She has completely lost interest in the furnace, in fitness & in health of any kind, it’s very blatant to see & I don’t know HOW anyone as a new follower would pay her money. She doesn’t walk the walk.

She trains to beyond what is even normal in Bali to punish herself for the eating & drinking to make it look like you can eat what you please & look like her in her edited magic mirror pics but as soon as the training slows down when she comes home & can’t do 4 sessions a day, she still seems to have the underlying binge problem, with food & alcohol now and also wears oversized clothes to hide the fact she’s been editing her pictures I assume.

When left to her own devices to train it’s the same bodybuilding spiel she’s been doing for years. Without a coach telling her what to do she seems clueless & just does the same thing over and over, I notice it when she comes home & it’s hypertrophy training central and walks or Crosstrainer for cardio, no sign of an AMRAP, EMOM or anything Mildly interesting to get the heart rate up - even if it was just for content to post her finisher, at least followers would be getting SOMETHING fitness related that they can try rather than “heres me doing an RDL that I’ve not done in years” the end.

She seems to have forgotten that she started that page to help people, but it recently has just become a personal diary for her alcohol, crappy food consumption, daily moans & morning crotch pics.

Needed to get that out. 😂

SOH : " How many people have you seen come back from holidays noticeably bigger?"

Well if you take that unnecessary winter coat off I'm sure the ppl of Swords could pick 1.
Ohhhh Ireland is so cold compared to Bali, that's the only reason for the coat?
Practice what you preach ffs. If you are promoting body confidence then start with yourself.

Ahhh I remember those days. I followed her then too. I think post comp is when I lost all respect for her - she was making out like she was fine but then later suddenly talked about how she wasn't find and was suffering from disordered eating and that competition's weren't healthy etc etc. But no apology that she promoted the whole thing on her platform for months and essentially lied to all her followers.

Get a bigger size?

I think the biggest block to long term fat loss, is the pursuit of short term fat loss.

It’s May now. If you are going into the summer thinking “I need to lose weight asap”, I hate to tell you - it probably won’t happen. And if it does, it probably won’t last.

Of course, this depends on your environment and habits, but if the trends are anything to go by - it seems a lot of people are going on a lot of holidays this year.

When I’m in Bali, with excellent training, less drinking and access to fresh tasty food, I tend to lean out a bit.

When I am looking ahead at lots of travel, or weddings, or festivals, I know that I am going to gain body fat.

So what do I do?

I buy bigger clothes for summer.

I like to have a couple of denim shorts that fit my body well - no matter what size I am.

For years I had a pair that I would squeeze into and feel so uncomfortable.

Eventually I bought a bigger pair that fit my body perfectly and I felt so much more confident.

Then what happened? By taking the pressure off myself to be constantly losing weight, I naturally dropped a bit of body fat and found those shorts too big.

I’ve learnt, over the years, that the less I focus on fat loss, the easier I find fat loss.

It’s the mindset I bring into my coaching in The Furnace.

If all you are thinking about is fat loss, and resisting the extra layer of fat you might put on in the summer, you might actually be more likely to end up in a surplus.

For the most part, our bodies are very capable to manage energy levels by themselves. Now, if I eat too much at a dinner with my family, I might find that I’m not that hungry in the morning and eat a little less.

Previously, I would have skipped breakfast altogether and tried to ‘fast’ until lunch, when I would eat way more than I had planned because I was hungry again.

I’m not saying you are guaranteed to gain body fat this summer. Remember that you have to eat 3500 calories above your maintenance level of weekly calories to gain a pound of body fat.

This means that if you have a big day of food and drink, and see the scales jump a few kg, it is very unlikely to be body fat.

And remember, even if you go on holidays and eat 5000 calories every day, and you do gain a few pounds of body fat, nobody will notice.

How many people have you seen come back from holidays noticeably bigger?

It’s also helpful to look at it the other way around:

If you go into a huge calorie deficit over the next couple of weeks and drop a few pounds of body fat - people probably won’t notice!

So why restrict yourself that much?

Here’s my advice:

Do your best.

Make good decisions where you can.

Aim to keep protein and veg high.

Move more.

Drink loads of water around your alcohol.

And buy clothes that fit you.

Remember, confidence is not in a size - it is in how you feel about yourself. If you are squeezed into clothes that make you uncomfortable, you won’t feel confident.

“Fresh tasty food” you literally gorge yourself on fried stodge x3 a day you absolute ghoul

That vlog was tragic. She didn't show anything from the lounges or the menus /toiletry bags. She didn't give any review of the food, the airlines or the additional extras that justify paying for business class. It was just unflattering closeups of her face as she got absolutely sloshed. It was like watching Fr. Jack catch a flight. Just an unkept drunk person shouting "drink, drink, Sinead, drink" repeatedly
