Why include the speed with which you moved to get a thank you gift? Oh I know, it's because you are a narcissist and you think that what you say can control the way people interpret you and your actions, and you REALLY want people to think that you are *gEneRoUs* and *gRaCiOuS*.
She has such a weird obsession with gift giving, like making up the stories of the old man at the supermarket giving her kids a $5 note and lollies etc. I guess when you're a narcissist, you find it difficult to interpret spoken or intangible emotional cues, so the exchange of physical gifts or stating words out loud is the only way to "prove" that someone loves you, so it becomes the ultimate expression of love/affection.
