I don’t doubt that there was a lot of bullshit going on BTS on The X Factor but I think a lot of it is overblown. It was years ago and at most they were on it for a few weeks. And some of the biggest moaners are the ones like Katie Waissell who seemed to do their best to court publicity. I think it’s all overblown.

Those who’ve developed a career from it seem fairly well adjusted. It’s those who were the most fame hungry and who went no where who are complaining the loudest.

She was also a 24 year old mother of two when she was with a 16 year old Zayn Malik, for those who like to froth about age differences.

Fair enough, but I honestly think she’s got decent intentions. The biggest mystery to me though is that she’s on the Board of the Ivors.

That’s like me being a judge on Masterchef after feeding my family from a Hello Fresh box.

Yeah I don’t mind Rebecca, it’s just the handwringing from some sections of some X Factor has-beens that does my head in.

Big Brother would make villains out of some people for a whole summer but they all seemed to move on with their lives. Grace from BB7 was only 20 and she was vilified!

For as long as there are people dying (by whatever cause / means) due to the pressures of fame and the treatment of young people thrust into the spotlight, the world needs people like Rebecca calling out the issues and ill treatment etc behind the scenes. Just because some people can handle it and move on with their lives, others can’t. For as many people annoyed by their calling out and hand wringing there are probably twice as many grateful for the support and advocacy
