I never thought he was sexy when I was younger and used to watch Magnum but now I’m older he was an absolute god among men. I didn’t like hairy chests at 15 and preferred pretty boys like Rob Lowe. Strange how one’s taste can change radically.
With all the Jilly Cooper goings on I wonder if beards will be shaved off and instead chunky moustaches (like Tom Selleck's) and chest rugs become the norm. 🤔

Jason Donovan being complained about on TikTok for seemingly being drunk during a performance of the rocky horror picture show. Scathing review. I’ll add it here in a moment
Jesus. Who is this po-faced bore? Jason D has been playing the role for at least twice as long as they've been watching it, he must know the part inside out and back to front and be able to play it in a (chemically enhanced) sleep. It sounds like this tedious individual wants it played with Brechtian reverence, which it was never meant to me. And who goes to see RHPS sober enough to whine that someone on stage was drunk? 😂

Can you give a quick synopsis? I've just watched all greys and currently watching station 19.
This was the article that I read and made me want to watch it. In a nutshell, writer of Greys and True Blood pretended she had cancer, pretended she cleaned up a murdered friends body from a mass shooting, pretended her brother abused her. It gets more and more extraordinary as it goes on!

Even on the back? And the back of the arms? Many years ago in my youth I saw a picture of Anton Du Beke coming out the sea and he had lots of hair there and it scarred me.
The hairiest person I’ve ever seen was Bob Hoskins. He was buying a load of baguettes one Sunday morning in our local grocer's (many years ago) and I was behind him at the till. It was almost like fur, even the back of his neck.
Nowt wrong with that IMO.

My Nana's brother was a very short and hairy (Italian) man. It grew in big furry tufts on his shoulders and back. He was like a little chimpanzee 😂😂

Thanks. I can't read the link but I'll see if I can get a hold of the documentary.

Not really for the “ celebrity “ thread but I have just watched the C4 dispatches programme and I am so bloody angry.
The Royal Family “ finances “ are a disgrace while we are all taxed to the hilt.
Either pay the correct tax or go, I’m sick of them.
"The Poor Man Pays for the Rich Man's Wants" Whilst the Rich make all the rules nothing will change. omo

I do hope so! Although I like a tidy beard alright. What goes around comes around, clearly the young uns now are fetishising the 80s because it’s that long ago and they weren’t even a twinkle in anyone’s eye back then. But I hope it’s not one sided. Women had natural bushes in the 80s and men had tashes and had never heard of manscaping. People still were attracted to each other and had loads of sex. Seems these days we have all got to look like action man and Barbie with no body hair whatsoever or otherwise it’s considered gross. How did this happen? So wrong

Saw this a couple weeks back, and thought he played it fantastically. Interested to see what’s happened this time!
Do you think it could just be personal set ideas on how a character should be played? So it just didn't ring true for this guy (especially given he puts on plays etc)?

It seems a massive difference from you, who says it was great, to him suddenly being so dreadful someone felt the need to complain.

Poor Jason if the accusations aren't true. Imagine someone suggesting you're drunk at work when you're not.

First of all, what a snobby witch!!! For someone who claims to have some sort of Glasgow musical background, she would know that the Glasgow Pavilion does a lot more than pantomime.

The theatre did a lot of what I would describe as popular theatre - singalong comedies, Glasgow variety acts, Mrs Browns Boys sold out numerous runs at the theatre.

Since the theatre was taken over by the Trafalgar Group, they've made a move to "broaden" the shows offered. Hence the reason that Rocky Horror has played there twice in a short space of time.

Should also be noted that since the Trafalgar group took over, ticket prices have went through the roof. You can hardly find a show under £35. I've paid nearly £60 for 2 panto tickets - previously they did a lot of 2-4-1 deals and the dearest ticket would be £25.

I've seen Jason Donovan several times in different shows and feel that he is god awful. But I think this crackpot has attended this show with a preconceived idea that the Pavilion is beneath her.

Plus the whole "how important this show is to the queer community"

I know this isn't the gender discussion thread but my feeling is that this person is probably straight as straight can be but has pink hair and therefore considers herself 'queer'

In other words hen, Get A Life!!!

Finally, people like this yin sneer at the Glasgow Pavilion. But generations of Glasgow theatre goers started off going to the panto, the numerous variety shows, at Sydney Devine shows (don't look him up 😳😳😳), at the comedies they staged.

With the increase in prices, I'm worried that Glaswegians will start to drift away from theatre.

We are lucky that we have some smaller theatres which also do great shows but back in the day, where was nothing like a Pavilion Panto.
