David’s dead was the greatest piece of television ever. It’s so inappropriate but hilarious at the same time and I feel so guilty for laughing but tell myself Bowie would have found it funny.
Agree. I regularly go back and watch it when I need cheering it up. Or just recite the whole thing to myself (doing the voices of each individual housemate) which I know off by heart, when I can’t be arsed to look it up on YouTube (soz. It was a fantastic piece of entertainment).

It was just so ridiculous. Like if David Gest had died during the night the producers would have just left his dead body there for them all to find and not remove him or them from the house. What a bunch of thick fuckers

Yeah, I think Danielle Pringlevag and Jo O Meara were infinitely worse than Jade but she ended up taking the fall although they were all awful. I think Jade was a bit of a sheep and a bit thick and the other two egged her on. Jade always was that easily influenced mate who needed everyone’s approval, but she picked the wrong side.

Not defending her behaviour in CBB, because she should have learned her lesson from her experience, but Jade was also bullied by the media the first time she was in BB. The stuff the papers used to print about her was vile (one of them photoshopped a pig’s snout on her face). Graham Norton also used to slag her off in his monologue at the start of his Ch4 show, although he came round eventually (called her his ‘little Jadelet’ i.e a portmanteau of Jade and piglet).
Before Danielle and Jo got involved, I remember it being the day before or something, Shilpa and Jade had an argument about Shilpa being from a privileged background and not quite understanding a) poverty in general and b) how poverty had specifically impacted Jade's life. It all kind of went over Shilpa's head, Jade had got herself quite worked up and wasn't expressing herself well, which infuriated Jade more, and she ended up saying 'you should try and survive a day in the slums in India before you start criticising people like me' or something along those lines. That got picked up in the press out of context as a racist comment, when it wasn't, and obviously no-one in the house was aware of this, so then it looked like Jade was doubling down on being racist towards Shilpa when as you say, Jade was in this place where she was pissed off with Shilpa and felt like she had the power and status and wanted to strike back, Danielle and Jo took advantage of this to start actually being racist and just generally nasty to Shilpa, and dragging Jade along with it when it wasn't really where it had all started from. Perfect storm of young, easily led, already wound up, not able to hold her own in a row and wanting to be part of a group within a group. I'm not excusing what she went on to say once she'd been egged on, but just unpicking what led up to it a bit.

Also the context of the time, people were just awful to anyone they perceived as different for whatever reason that was - different colour, different accent, I remember being literally followed around and mocked by a group of girls in a nightclub for wearing a quilted skirt. At an art school, of all places. You just have to watch things that were popular at the time like Sex and the City or Friends or some of the comedians of the time and how crass they were to anyone who wasn't financially solvent, conventionally good looking, conventionally able (but not too clever, of course), straight or white.

It might not have been the heat that killed him though. It just says natural causes, so could have been a stroke, heart attack, brain bleed etc. Poor man, I hope he didn't suffer.
Apparently he had a fall. The photos show where he was found was at the base of a very rocky hill. Maybe he hit his head?
Being hypocritical but it feels horrible to speculate I know. Just dreadfully sad.

Kinga with a wine bottle anyone eek
It was those series when people were just doing stupid tit for exposure but you have to ask hat kind of exposure you want to be doing that sort of thing.
The series with Elizabeth and Jon and them was kind of an interesting human study, afterward it just became idiots being made famous. Real car crash TV.
same with everything though. Come dine with me was good until it was just wannabes trying to be quirky.

Nah, that series, when Cameron won, was just mainly dull. It came after series three with Jade and think they were trying to damp it all down a bit after the criticism that got, but there’s a reason series five ramped up the craziness again. The first series, when the participants had no idea how popular it was, is the only one that was really much of a study in how people trapped in a house together behave without manipulation.

A friend of mine went into a different reality show not long after BB first got big, but no one cared about it, and instead of leaving to massive hoohah he emerged to find that pretty much no one but the contestants’ families had watched: I only bothered with a couple of episodes.

What series was it 👀

I remember they used to have sessions with psychologists in the earlier series whilst in the house. Also the likes of Nikki were originally knocked back for earlier series due to their mental health

Aside from David’s dead, which I think is the greatest reality tv moment ever, my favourite Tiffany moment was her saying she’d be there for Scotty T with open arms, open legs and an open mouth 🤣

Tiffany doesn't get ANYTHING like the credit she deserves!

Cameron, Jon Tickle (a small light in the brightness), Elizabeth etc. was series four.

Also that was a great series if you were sad enough to have the 24 hour live feed and then watch the edited show to see just how much editing went into it. They totally stitched Jon up and everyone who had the live feeds could see it!

Nikki always said it was the best thing that ever happened to her and ironically she said it saved her life.
