Leah Betts dad was an ex copper..there are rumours the police/ special branch were involved.
ive read the book Bloggs 19 ..Darren Nichols is supposed to have given interviews to the author. he was the guy who gave evidence against Steele and Whomes & is now supposed to be in witness protection (again theres rumours ges also dead).
How much of the book is truth or beefed up i dont know..some of it seems so unbelievable..its worth a read

I totally agree with this. Paula had form. I've been around so many groupies I can tell you for nothing that they will chase down their prey and never let go regardless of how humiliating it is. The Boomtown Rats used to call her the 'limpet' and Bob initially had zero interest in her at all. I think she wore him down. And she had affairs during their marriage. I think she set her sights on MH and would do whatever it took to ensnare him and try to keep him. I know a lot of people find the Big Breakfast interview funny but she was married and he was engaged. Can you imagine watching your other half behave like that??? Someone who knew her said that she literally let him do anything to her that he wanted to and I'm sure that's how she went down the hard drugs route that killed her.

A friend of mine went on this morning once when they used to have slots with members of public testing items. She went on with her baby (plus a few other Mums and babies) they were testing some new products and would be able to keep the item. When they finished Alison Hammond went round grabbed all the items and stuffed them in her bag for herself !
The crew were really embarrassed but said she was always took anything on offer and had to get replacements for the guests. It wasnt even anything expensive either !!!

My guess is GG paid to make it go away. Probably just before the dirty bastard went on trial. She gave an interview to a teen mag in the early 90s and was quite open about it. I'm about the same age as DVO and remember thinking it was gross. Not just shagging GG, but being with someone that old when she was so young was just gross.
This was an era where Amanda de Cadenet and Emma Ridley were very publicly in nightclubs at 13 so no one really batted an eyelid. Jane Goldman was another one. She was always photo'd falling out of taxis drunk when at school. She turned up to school late and hungover and was threatened with expulsion. Her parents' response was to ask the school to let her attend later in the day so she could get in on time. She married Jonathan Ross and had her first baby young (legal and a not-creepy age gap!) so she (imo) found the stability she clearly needed and they are still together 30 years later so good on 'em .
Mandy Smith admits shagging Bill Wyman at 14 (with mother's encouragement) and then married him at 19 when he was old enough to be her grandad. Emma Ridley was married at 15 in Vegas (again with Mother's encouragement)
All completely disgusting but totally accepted at the time.
It was my era and those 'It girls' were my age and we used to lap up the gossip pages of the papers and teen mags. It was baffling to me that these girls were out drinking and partying but I was still at home and rollerskating round the street!!

Everyone I knew thought Wyman a pervert. Peeps might have thought it ok in showbiz circles if you’re a big Act, but I don’t think people thought it was ok. It was in the papers a lot

People have woken up to grooming now, so I think, hopefully it would killl someone’s career stone dead, but even then you’ve got people “big” enough to get away with this sort of criminality

Apparently, she’s T2 diabetic and as far as I know, they aren’t as prone to hypos or big swings in blood glucose in the same way as T1’s which can cause a person to become erratic or being mistaken for being drunk. I always thought the diabetic stuff with regards to some of her public appearances was BS, but also happy to be corrected if what I’ve written above is incorrect (my daughter is T1 and FIL is T2).
 
Probably not that exciting, but back in the day, a (very reliable) friend at university’s dad was a limo driver. She told me that her dad drove Duncan James (Blue) and his mum to an awards ceremony and when it came to pick up his mum she was there her on her own and had no idea where Duncan was. He was found sucking off Kenny Goss (GM’s other half at the time) in an alleyway.

This was pretty shocking to me as he was very much in the closet at that time. He came out a few years later.
 
Anyone met anyone really cult like/unusual? I haven’t, but I had a near miss. At the time I worked in Liverpool City Centre and popped out for my lunch. With my subway salad swinging in me bag I wandered along Whitechapel enjoying a ciggie before I went back into work jail. Anyone who smokes knows that an uninterrupted cig is bliss, especially when your head is battered. Anyway this guy met my gaze, bearded, pretty scruffy looking and clearly lost. Not a million miles from Mathew Street I bought bah tourist. I can’t be arsed with you mate, not wasting valuable drag time on you. And so I pretended to look through him and he looked back down at his map/leaflet thing he was holding. Later that day was reading the local paper online and it covered comic con. The very same comic con that Mark Hamill was attending with his beard, scruffy clothes and fecking backpack. I had shamelessly blanked fecking Luke Skywalker! And I wouldn’t mind, but I am a gal who grew up watching Star Wars I loved it! I was gutted! Obvs didn’t speak to him but he was so totally normal and lovely looking, proper deep kind eyes! It had played on my mind when I thought he was a normal person never mind a bloody Jedi 🙄

Yes I got that impression too from the michael Hutchence film. They had split and had another woman. His girlfriends seemed to accept that to be with him.they had to share him. He must have had some real animal magnetism.

One of my old colleagues was friends with a model back in the 80s and MH picked her up in a hotel bar. Apparently the sex was off the charts and he was an absolute legend. So tbf to Paula, when the D is that good, it does send you a bit crazy :p

Oh this is what we all come here for☕️👏 he was one of my first crushes I adored him, I couldn’t believe he was gay until he came out as bi. And as a gay pal once told me, the bi bus has one stop and it’s gay town 🤷‍♀️ The writing was on the wall!
