That’s not true though I think that’s just an excuse. Look at Neil Patrick Harris. An openly gay man with kids with his husband. He was in Gone Girl and had sex scene with a women. I think it’s more to do with wherever you’ve kissed the arse of the top people in holllywood

I read on here a while back he’s another scofe (ie in closet) and it’s a sham marriage as commented on here before there is no apparent physical chemistry between him and his wife so they might have something on him related to that and are biding thier time.

Also Ben Wishall has had loads of straight parts recently. I think the issue may be the far East but they dont care if the actor is gay as long as they are straight on screen.
I suspect it's because studios are run by a very small group of risk averse people and people who are ashamed of their own sexuality. For both those reasons they tell actors to pretend to be straight. If you have fought your way to nearly the top in a highly competitive field, you probably dont want to risk it all going down the pan.
