cannot wait to see the reformed and rehabilitated rage fuelled hashtags Sali comes up with for her next sales pitch informative post
Haha she will be so bitter and passive aggressive. Her followers will reassure her in bucket loads that it is soooo unfair she should have to do pesky declarations. She will then reference here saying 'there are a group of VERY UGLY WOMEN who keep accusing me of dishonest practice blah blah blah' rather than just saying 'it is part of my job as an influencer to follow the very clear non-optional rules and be transparent. Sx'.

Yes good point. Back then it wasn't really seen as compromising your integrity I suppose - but now it really is. Must be a bitter pill to swallow.
It is like MPs expenses - seen as a justifiable perk and part of the job until someone says but hang on a minute - is it really ethical? My ex in his line of work could claim all sorts of daft stuff back - meals, trips etc - and it just isn't done so much now as far as I know. People and work practices are subject to more scrutiny.
The 90s were definitely the salad days as far as the free lunch went

She’s using the film critic analogy again 🙄

We know though thet a magazine is paid for , products are paid for and there is a level of disconnection between us readers and paid journalists.

Influencers pretend to be friends and come to us with ‘this fab thing ive found’ expecting us to believe them because they’re in our lives all the time.

Comparing magazines and newspapers with Instagram just isn’t apples and apples.

Course not. Wasn't suggesting they were comparable, just offering where the attitude might come from
