Current advice is all sleep should be supervised.. I’m sure 90% of people don’t do it for every single minute of every single sleep, but she’s been paid to advertise these products and is showing herself using them potentially unsafely and certainly against guidelines. If I worked for the brands involved I’d not be happy about it- like all the influencers with the gifted sleepyheads showing them being used for overnight sleeping

I'd say its higher than 90%. That's absolute madness. When do you shower or cook dinner ? Or watch TV or read a book?

her post makes me want to cry. I'm childless, i would love a baby. Grabby says a perfect day is when the baby plays on her own and sleeps on her own :( this makes me so sad.
Just two years ago she was posting about not wanting a baby... She should have stuck with that. I am childfree by choice and it seems grabby gave into pressure. She would've been better being childfree than having a child she doesn't want.

It doesnt mean you need to watch your baby every minute they sleep. It's all sleeps and naps to be in the same room as an adult until 6 months.
It was found that babies napping in a room with an adult, reducing the SIDS risks.
Babies cant fall into as deep a sleep and stop breathing. You can still do your cleaning/shower while they sleep if that's when you normally do it.
I showered at night when my husband was home

Yes, this.. I don’t think I worded it very well!

Yet generations of babies were left to sleep alone without mattress monitors, baby monitors, supervised sleeps...

I agree though that if she is promoting a product/gifted it Grabbsie should follow the letter of the current rules.

Yes they did and many of them fell victim to cot death
Thankfully the SIDS rate has been reduced through research and advice given to parents now that help them keep their babies as safe as possible.

If guidelines and advice help parents reduce the risk of death for their babies then I for one am grateful to be given it.

Many is an exaggeration. Mercifully the figures either way are low.

For all her faults RVK is not trying to deliberately put her baby at risk and suggesting she must remain in the same room to supervise baby is madness.

Ice skates blades near babies head? Yeah wouldnt be for me. Letting a baby nap in one room while I potter around the house doing chores? Everyone does this

Let's try to keep perspective here.

Do we think she has two pairs of skates? One for the wall and one for the sled or did she give them a clean before moving them near Bentos head? So bizarre.
I was wondering this too. One pair is newer and cleaner looking.. now a vintage set I can sort of understand even though it’s not my style at all but a new pair would be totally bizarre

You think many is an exaggeration? Even one is too many!
Many babies did die from cot death, the rate had been slashed because of research guidelines and information.

Know better, do better. That is the perspective, they are the facts.

I think we can all agree 1 is too many. Supervising naps is not the answer (or the guideline for that matter) and RVK is not putting her baby in harm's way by doing chores while freya naps. I think people are reaching who suggested otherwise.

Shes guilty of insta-cliches and being a basic-witch but theres been suggestions here that shes reckless regarding her kids safety and even that she shouldn't have kids. It's all a bit much.

Completely agree with this. She's annoying, but that's it, if she's pottering about whilst the baby is asleep, then I'm a bad mum too, as i got all my chores done whilst they napped. My babies were in their own rooms from 3 months old, they are 18 and 20 now and survived fine. More likely to have an issue having your baby in your hot bed.

It is current guidelines, and not that ridiculous, my 7 month old has always slept in the same room as I am in, day and night. I understand they are just guidelines though and only advised, everyone is free to make their own decisions.

And your qualifications on infant sleep are? If the experts agree that research and evidence shows babies sleeping in a room alone is a risk for SIDS then who are you to say supervised naps arent the answer? There is no disputing research and evidence based findings.
Why does it upset you so much? Facts arent attacks.

Ignoring the advice is putting infants at risk, that is also a fact.

I've never said shes reckless or shouldnt have had a baby etc but I will say that I couldn't care what she does however as an influencer, she should be showing safe practices for her child.

Drs and the world health organisation dont just make these things up for the sake of it.
