Now I could be wrong here, but does anyone else read this and feel that it’s a sneaky ad for the dog lead? We all know little miss fake smiles is absolutely woeful at disclosing her ads, but if this is actually an ad then I’m absolutely fuming she’d tie it into a Remembrance Sunday post. Genuinely hope it’s me reading into things, what do you guys think?

Also, I noticed this on her profile, that ASICS gait ad that was poorly labelled as an ad can’t be viewed, is that because some of you reported it I wonder?

Such a moving tribute to the fallen, actually brought a tear to me eye. 😢

This is their problem, no empathy for anyone, gotta make a post about themselves or an ad, boils my piss

Yet will they care about it? No! Will they care what we think? Even more no!

Nothing shares the quiet dignity of Remembrance Sunday quite like an engineered smiley photo next to some poppies, complaining about how hard your week has been…

Influencers annoying me today …

Struggling to get over Fun Bus being gifted a Tacx Neo. Like he’s never considered maybe cycling on the road to improve his iron man time? And don’t even get me started on him having his own event for his 100th marathon. He seriously believes he’s a celebrity.

Just waiting for Fiona to start her next set of stories from the sofa and her ‘research’ results. She’s been angling for Covid jab/periods conspiracy for a while now. Anything that diverts from her being consistent to the commitments she makes every six weeks or so.

Just catching up on the Gen madness. I never had her down as particularly sharp but this really is another level. Opinions are one thing with but actively spreading anti-vax/ conspiracy shite is not on and really needs policing.

Also to jump back a long way to someone enjoying Mo Farah on a podcast, hearing genuine elites (not some twit with an iPhone and an instagram account who once scraped a GFA) talk about running and training is really refreshing and interesting. I really enjoy Allie Keifer (not least because she is rapid without having the super lean runners build).

I also saw a post from Eilish McColgan about how she has no idea what her cadence or stride length is, and she doesn't know another elite who does, and pace and heart rate being more important and I really rate that as an opinion. I think a lot of stupid tit people sell adds data but very little benefit and mean people hunker down on aspects of their training that aren't important, when they probably just need to do some speedwork, recover better, eat better and do a small amount of S+C. I think the reluctance to work on the basics makes looking at daft/overcomplicated stuff really attractive.

Has anyone stumbled across "Ben Is Running"? Has a youtube and instagram but not a huge following however his grid is sprinkled with trainer reviews with a vague #gifted hashtag hidden down behind the three dots.

His content is sort of interesting but there's a smugness about him that I'm not too keen on, or something I just can't put my finger on.

That’s the div I was talking about the other day who came fourth in a xc because he was go-pro filming himself the entire way round and he was too busy fiddling with the camera at the start!

I thought I'd seen him mentioned but wasn't sure. Yeah - always faffing about with the camera, moaning that he dropped his 360 in the loo and would have "won parkrun" in a faster time if he hadn't had to carry the big camera.

It was only 9 days ago he was posting to say he had hit 5k followers. Now on 7,700ish?

Just had a look. Another one who takes Parkrun far too seriously.
Lots of dodgy followers too. Assume he’s buying
EDIT - And yup, all the badly disclosed ADs.

I’ve recently been watching his channel to kill some time when nothings on tv and fair play he’s fast, but think I’d get annoyed running up too with him and that camera always in the way. Bet people aren’t always too happy having that in their face all the time!

Same as jamies.running he has nearly 30k growing fast but a quick look at his followers and all fake bots with no interaction.... really don't get it.
Jamie is a bit of a prat! Said hello to him a few months back at an event in Sunderland and he looked me up and down and then just walked off! Also, wtf is it with all that tensing of the legs in his photos, absolutely cringe that he’s trying to make it look like he’s not tensing up at all. Weeeeeird bloke 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

I wonder what his "colleagues" would think about his out of work activities if they had access to the internet and could see what kind of tragic behaviour he gets up to? I'd imagine they would absolutely rip the living piss out of him

One things for sure, his "colleagues" didn't catch a fun bus to get to the all-in-one office and accommodation he works at 😉😜

These hashtags are everything that is wrong with posters these days, the desperation to be liked or have followers. I just don’t get it 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m not sure I agree with you. Anna has been discussed before and people have differing opinions. Recent posts have seemed a little critical (or policing) of people who voice anything negative about Anna and I think the person who lives near her is free to voice her opinion and frustrations (which I agree with).
I see what you’re saying. I think I was probably speaking for myself (in that I’m not ‘policing’) but I guess there’s been some comments almost telling this poster off for her criticism which doesn’t make sense considering where we are!

Ok can we talk about this expression 'roll the dice'. WHY would anyone think that makes sense. You shouldn't be going into a race thinking 'lol maybe I'll get lucky'. You should be feeling prepared because you've trained hard, rested properly and you know you're on track for a good run. What kind of coach encourages people to have the mentality of crossing their fingers and hoping for the best! PBs come from hard work, not blind luck.
