It just sow sow nice, but it’s for a young person, like Erika needs the UES it has more for the middle aged woman if that makes sense.
Maybe things have changed but when I lived in NYC the UES was the one area in Manhattan where you did *not* want to live. It was boring and mainly for families. I never hung out there and yes, at the beginning I actually lived there because one could get a cheap apartment there, but as soon as I was able to get a rent stabilized apartment in the West Village I got out of there! Do people (other than Urka) actually covet the UES now?

UES is fab! I l really like it but yes it’s a lot of families. Has really good public schools lol

all her shoes and I mean all her shoes are so dull, not a pop of colour to be seen!

From what I've seen, most people who look to move to the UES are: a) younger professionals who just moved to the city and are renting in a non-luxury building since it's somewhat "affordable" compared to most areas in Manhattan that are near restaurants and bars and b) like you and another commenter said, families who want to be closer to the good schools for their kids. They tend to be of a higher income bracket than group a). Personally, I find the UWS more interesting than the UES if I had to pick which side of the park to live on.

she gonna live in NY forever she says - surprise at that she seems like a real home bird deep down given she couldn’t even not come home at Xmas in the middle of a global pandemic
If she’s still on the O visa she’s going to need to start hiring people.

She is surely going to apply for a Green Card next/spouse visa if the “totally unexpected” proposal happens? If the decline of her following continues, I can imagine her looking for work I’m interior design or something. She’s got a couple of decent ish internships behind her. I wonder if she would be better to attempt a Lauren Conrad/Whitney kinda thing. She’s never gonna make it in the big leagues in the US, well it’s very unlikely. That or she’ll be married with the baby with next 3 years and become the soccer mom she’s always dreamed of.

I reckon the unexpected four months in kerry in winter in a lockdown gave her food for thought. ...staying in NY forever on an O visa...theres no forever until she gets citizenship and shes a loonnggg way from even being in a position to apply. Green card/visa wedding to tommy on her to do list as soon as her O visa is running out.

I work within US employment immigration. The O-1 is not an immigrant intent visa. While technically she could keep renewing this (though O visa renewals can be hit or miss) she could reside in the US longer term or permanently however no path to a green card or citizenship. Now depending on what visa tammy is on (im assuming an h1b), that visa is dual intent and he could make the transition from h1b to green card (then to citizenship) but this would require the PERM process (which basically is a dept of labour requirement to prove there are no other americans available for the role and if ONE american applies , perm process is over and a green card is dead in the water). If they get married erika could be a dependent as an H4 and work but her visa would be 100% dependent on tammy. As it currently stands, her by herself doesnt seem to have a lot of options. Unless as someone mentioned she starts hiring people and actually creates jobs for americans 🤣 (sorry for novel lol)
