What makes me sad in all this, is that I very much doubt she’s actually asked Freya what she would like to do. Or given her all the facts and not just the fairytale “if you don’t go to school, we can go on holiday all the time!!” which of course would sound appealing to any child. The only thing saving those kids from their weirdo parents is school, and friendships and experiences outside of their little family bubble.
I also find it hugely concerning how she speaks of getting the children “out of the system” - the system being a safe, regulated learning environment with an actual education, and “out of the system” being at home with a father who is attracted to 13 year old girls, and a mother who was groomed on a school trip and sees it all as a fairytale and is totally oblivious to all the glaringly obvious red flags of their early relationship. It still baffles me how he goes about a normal life and isn’t on some kind of register!! In any of the (many) primary schools I’ve worked in in my career, that kind of father wanting to take his child out of school to “homeschool” - I use the term lightly - would ring so many safeguarding alarm bells.
