Yes, its definitely from gaining a following years ago. Right place right time. She was in school when I started following her and used to actually make vlogs where she left the house with the camera.

I keep popping in and watching her videos hoping that they will improve but they are just getting and worse worse with each move. She really does the bare minimum creatively, and now with this niche of organising, making a mess and cleaning up after herself plus the moving over and over, I am losing hope that she will ever get back to anything worth watching. She has made each place she moved seem so lame.

I follow another Youtuber in DC with around the same followers but she gets WAY MORE views and she only started maybe 4-5 years ago.

Rachel is going to have to step it up because I don't see why brands would want to partner with her with these lame videos she keeps making. What is she going to record after she finishes putting together all of this crap furniture she bought? Time lapses of cleaning up her mess over and over? Making a point to hand wash the dishes instead of using the dishwasher for more content again?

Yeah, I can see why you enjoy Caroline she's very relevant talking about things that matter around our age now like men and marriage, working out, eating right, and not just pigeon-holed into a sheep-ish way of thinking about her content. I believe Rachel just wants to get married and have kids, it is very evident in her videos, but I think that's what makes her irrelevant is that she doesn't address very normal and questionable feelings about this time of her life. She will just try to come across as perfect, but I also get why she does that her content is very straight and narrow focusing on organising and aesthetics. I don't know if she'll make more relevant relatable chatty vids again but it's clear she needs to work on herself. She really seems to think she'll be happier when she is married with kids instead of what she's doing now, I personally enjoyed her content in Canada but that's when she started to really doubt herself and make vision boards etc you could tell..

Great post!

Rachel was only in uni or fashion school for a short time. Until a lecturer told her that she wasting their time.

No doubt there will be videos of Rachel finding her new morning routine, cleaning. It's all so fake. As she has no outside job. It's not like she has to be at The White House at 8am to start work for the day.
 
I also wonder what she will do once the appartement is done. Move in with her boyfriend? I don't think that she will stay more than a year in that place. Too bad that she became this boring. Her best was when she went to uni and worked on clothes pieces.. what a waste. She could have started a business with all that money and have her own clothes store.. guess cleaning and washing dishes is more interesting to her. It's her life!

I mean thats content right there to move again in a year and do this all over again lol I don't think she has plans on living in this apartment. Its just a set, her work, where she goes to film after her boyfriend goes to work. Where she keep her little mess and repeatedly films timelapses of tidying it up. He picks her up and takes her home in the evenings to where she really lives.

I completely agree about her content in uni, and there was a variety. I don't even dislike her and I always come back wondering whats happened to her.

I mentioned Caroline as an example because her niche is interiors but there is so much more to her channel that keeps it interesting. With Rachel it has become exclusively one dimensional content, zero storytelling, zero creativity. And I get it. She doesn't want to share her personal life, and she doesn't have to but ugh SO BORING!!! I just wish she would make an effort. This was an exciting move for her but what is there to look forward to for us? I'm so grateful that the algorithm has introduced me to other channels over the years so I'm not stuck watching people like this do the bare minimum.
 
I don't know her personally or her boyf but I would be wary of dating someone with a past history of moving so much..

I mean it's one thing to be transient but I've always found it to be some kind of weird flex for her...it can't be normal, right? Red flag..?

I wouldn't see it as a red flag to be honest. She's just moved around a lot. Renting and maybe moving around to try new apartments that are a cheaper option.

I remember her thing to say was that she lived all around Australia. Which wasn't the case, she's only lived on the East Coast. Brisbane, Sydney (well country NSW) and Melbourne.

I still think it would be hard to live or be in a relationship with an influencer/content creator. Just having them home all the time. Or having to video them to mundane things. It would be hard to separate your personal life from your online persona. As it always feels like you have to be on. I come home to relax not to keep working.

That was a hangover! She said that she went out the night before.

I think she needs to go darker with her hair.

She tries to make a big thing about every detail in her apartment.

The weather has been quite hot there. Especially the nights. You would need the air con on all day and night.
 
she hasn't done anything interesting as of late...her content is so boring. If she used the sewing machine she bought to make her own décor or cushion covers for around the house that would be at least educational or fun to watch

She really does lack some substance I think she could do a lot with her sewing side and bringing it to Youtube...

but seriously hasn't she grown tired of being in an apartment all day yet
 
I think when she arrived it was very hot 40°C during the day and at night it stayed around 30°C. It would have been too hot to go out.

But when she was in Toronto and Melbourne she never really went out.

I agree making your own cushion s would be fun. I've never done it, but it looks easy to make a square cushion. I noticed she talks in imperial measurements now she's in America.

She also made such a big deal about that bedside table. I don't know many places that will just send you a spare leg! There was some kind of fault when the item was packed. So to make things easier they just sent her a new bedside table.

It must be pretty lonely there. Just sitting in your apartment waiting for your boyfriend to finish work. Making new friends that aren't your boyfriend's would be hard. Especially when you have no job.

Happy she slowly trying to change up her content a little with sewing and thrifting because so far what she has filmed in DC is not worth watching

I listened back and she sounded annoyed and confused why they referred her back to the brand of the bedside table. She also threw out the instructions so they had no idea what she was going on about. She made a big deal about nothing.

I think she does and that's why she doesn't want to film it. Which is fair enough. She spent $15k AUD to be with him.

Wow...it's common sense that there are manufacturer error at times and some products will have parts missing, broken, faulty or sometimes damaged while shipping. I can't believe she's 34 years old and does not realize this, I've said this before but what 🤯TERRIBLE🤯 luck with furniture she has! It's a good thing she's bought out the sewing machine instead
 
I can't watch one more decorate my new appartement with me video! The ugly pumpkin that she was coloring? she thought it wasn't good enough and had to wash it and re-start from scratch! Oh my God what a boring life I can't!
She so anal about the most insignificant stuff I seriously can't anymore with her 😴😴😴

She has way too much free time on her hands.

So many other content creators make living in a new country interesting. Rachel doesn't. It's so boring. All she does is buy crap and fluffs up her pillows.

Maybe she should have pursued a career in visual merchandising.
 
I think her content is great and works well for Instagram reels but videos doesn't do it justice I'm afraid.

I wonder if she reads here? She's been asking about which content to make..I don't think she should do cleaning over and over again but she really needs a car or start sewing or doing her own paintings to mix it up a little..

The paint by numbers are so easy and an artist has already laid out the numbers for you so you aren't using your own creativity which is what makes her videos so boring.
 
Her insistence on not getting or using a car is very strange. Even if she spent lots of money on her visa, she could easily lease or buy a car with a loan, with very little money down, and make monthly payments. The dealerships make it really easy. Plus she would be building her credit. I did that when I was in my 20's and it helped me build an excellent credit score, which is really important here for everything.

Also, there are car sharing services in DC where she could just pick up a car here and there for what she needs, instead of dragging her boyfriend all over to stores with her.

She really needs to have a little brainstorming session and come up with some things to do. This pumpkin painting obsession is so weird
