I’ve finally read all five threads… what a journey!

I discovered Popsy in 2019 ish and loved their dresses. Over 2 years I built up quite a collection and still have a lot of them because they’re the only thing I wear for work! I used to post in there a lot but stopped because it was getting to be too much ‘if the face fits’. I got really fed up of the weekly drama when people missed out on a dress and it was the worst thing that had ever happened to them, and just the huge overconsumption. The worst was when I posted a picture of me in my Harry Potter dress which I loved (and still love!) and I got piled on saying I was a TERF because I was promoting JK Rowling.

There was a girl posting prolifically when I was active in the group who had at one point more than 150 dresses. I remember she was around the same size as me but would buy every size dress from size 8-18 because she had so many she sought after - so she would cram herself into the tightest dresses just to say she had it! She would often be receiving/buying multiple dresses every few days… it was just the symbol of overconsumption because rather than not have the dress she wanted, she would just squeeze into any size possible. I seem to remember that she admitted she had a bit of an addiction, sold them all and left the groups.

But this is exactly why I don’t post anymore and the last time I bought something new from them was back in January when I got a new job. I do love their tights and feel they are way better quality than Snag. But the horrible overconsumption they promote now just makes me feel icky… I wish they would have just stuck to maybe 1 new dress a week like they used to, not branching out into every single accessory possible that looks tacky and cheap. I went shopping with my mum the other day and we were looking at notebooks and she went ‘oh way better quality than Popsy notebooks’ and I was just like wtf? I didn’t even know they did notebooks?!

Popsy driving that over consumption is how I ended up here. I kept reading posts about ladies having to sell dresses to pay bills and yet they still try and make people feel like they are losing out if they don’t buy every week. I think it’s actually very irresponsible of them.

I mean, chances are that it belongs to one of them - they are on holiday at the moment so presumably good chance they have parked at the airport and who else would want that plate 🤣

But, if it was me, I would be mighty pissed off about having the location of my car and the fact I am away broadcast to all those people 🤷‍♀️

Admin doing their job well again 🤣
