Perimenopause moans #2

6 months??!!! Oh man. I'm on Evorel Sequi patches. 4 50 and 4 Conti patches. My night sweats aren't really that bad but I just feel tired all the time, leg pain and generally like a slob.
It was 6 months to feel fully better, improving gradually from the start so I hardly noticed some of it until I looked back. It’s worth keeping a diary to log how you feel.

This! I’m now 12 months on patches and the tiredness lifting was not overnight but enough for me to start enjoying life again. Now I feel amazing, no daytime tiredness that require naps. I genuinely feel that best I have in years so I hope you get the same result

I've been on HRT for 2 years now, I'm now on gel which has worked for me. Most things have improved for me, but 1 crucial thing is brain fog. I can't remember conversations, what was said...this is really bothering me as it's impacting my confidence at work. Anything else I can do to help this?
I have actually resorted to a small notebook where I write things down. This was prompted by totally forgetting an important work meeting the same week I took the kids to the dentist a week early. I also completely forgot a very personal conversation I had with a work colleague, couldn't remember the details and I felt awful So now I tip my brain onto paper. Even daft things. It helps my confidence.
I also write any anxieties I have before bed down , feels like I almost get rid of them onto the paper, I even write solutions or just ahhh shut the duck up , if I am being daft.

Lions mane is really good for brain fog - it helps with ADHD but I'm not sure if I have that or not but if I don't take it I do note that I can't find my words so easily

Testosterone might be a good addition if you’re not already taking it.

New to the thread and to cut long story short started having perimenopause symptoms age 43. Erratic periods, low mood, poor concentration and told I Was too young to be menopausal and my bmi was too risky to start hrt. Started anti depressants Now 4 years later have had 3 periods in 3 years last one 9 months ago, on 60mg fluoxetine, poor sleep, low mood and poor concentration and motivation. Had bloods done and needed folic acid. Had ultrasound and all normal. But because I don't have hot flushes, it is still seen as mood disorder. Would you ask for hrt now?

What a great idea! I'm a sucker for writing things down- lists etc. But I think I'd actually forget to write things down in the first place now🤣🤣.

Are there any supplements to help with “running hot”? Not exactly hot flushes but feeling hot most of the day and sweating with a coat on today which was exceptionally mild for this time of year. I’m not on HRT and my last period was 96 days ago. I feel like I may be ovulating right now after a while but can’t be certain (we know the signs, right? Without wanting to be TMI)

HRT really helped me as, if on the right dose, it fixes things at source as I was defo low on hormones. General supplements might help if you're low in that vitamin or whatever but if you're not deficient then you're just wasting your money and majority of it can easily be got from diet.

Take a look at black cohosh and sage. No idea if there’s any contraindications but I’ve heard friends mention them over the years.

The past few months I’m getting really sore ankle pain when sleeping it’s causing me to wake up through the night and I struggle to get back to sleep with it, it’s mainly my right ankle joint has anyone experienced this?

Yes and always the right one!

I used to get very bad ankle pains during the night (usually my right!) and I found it helpful to raise my ankles somewhat - a little cushion or (in my case!) a rolled up pair of fluffy bedsocks underneath somehow seemed to settle them into a better position. That has gone totally now which I think is down to magnesium supplements.
