Yeah the undertaker charges for death notices it’s included in the bill as is the priest’s fee and funeral music.
Yeah I know I paid for the newspapers but this was a Facebook notice it actually says posting on Facebook

Its a Service we all use and need
And there’s money to be made as we don’t really question the cost until weeks or even months later

This is the SM notice I meant ,the newspapers charge by word it’s all explained when you have the meeting with the undertaker, at least ours was.

Our local undertaker charges £50 for posting on their own website and social media. Pricey enough! 😅 My family and I fell down a rabbit hole of the pricelist the other week, we’ve all come up with ideas to cut costs come the time! 🤣

In case anyone else wants a snoop and some light reading for the dinner table discussion;

That did give me a chuckle 🙊

When my dad passed he had put enough money by over the years to bury him.
Only has a few wishes - which undertaker and what chapel/graveyard ….but main instruction he had was a Solid oak coffin ⚰

Would be back haunting us if he was in mdf to save that extra zero!

Oh my parents well my Da would have went ballistic If he knew how much the headstone cost he was born in 51 and He never had much but what he had he didn’t spend wrong I think that generation are very frugal what do you all think?

my grandparents & parents are like get the cheapest coffin possible, no flowers…. The graves have been organised & paid for… there is a family headstone tho…. Thankfully I haven’t been the one whose had to organise a funeral myself yet…
I personally have a credit union savings account & don’t they pay for (part?) of your funeral?

My da told me and my sister we could throw him in our bit of rough land at the end of the garden and be done with it. Think we'll put a bit more effort in than that lol

Lots of people leave their body to medical science it’s a free burial lol ,once they’re finished experimenting they return the corpse and pay for the funeral.
