What are the likes of Niall actually concerned about though? Is it really just unvetted males or is it immigration and asylum seekers in general? Particularly those who aren’t of the white skinned variety.

I think there’s businesses going under , the tourism industry has lost billions, no school places , GP’s and accommodation to name a few, if the government wanted to house 10million people shouldn’t they have been building the infrastructure years ago ? There’s also concern around legal migration, buying up properties and pushing rents to unaffordable levels for locals.

I think unvetted males is an issue.
I do think people find the Ukrainians going home for Christmas to be really bizarre and I can see why if you were from here or the south on a waiting list for a house you would be pissed off with that.

If he was that worried about Irish homes for Irish people he’d have handed that money over.

They’re objecting to more houses of multiple occupants in their area the University has lost all their student lets to Mears , it’s those looking to study are going to lose out plus those given asylum and told to vacate after 28 days to join a 40yr housing list, there’s more than people’s skin colour at play, we’ve always had foreign healthcare etc , it’s when it starts to impede on society it’s only natural people would speak out, don’t think accosting people is the way to go about it though.

Social housing is in short supply and very sought after, people will only be allocated certain areas because of the political situation here, it’s not like the rest of UK ..Ukrainians are living rent and bill free, don’t pay for food either, yet able to work and claim benefits towards rent it’s no wonder people are up in arms when their tax is being abused like that, I see Leo was asked why nearly a million euro was used to bring their pets to Ireland yet the gov couldn’t fund an op for a very ill child that’s literally gasping for breath because his scoliosis is so severe

I’m clearly not talking about wee Derry pensioners, I’m taking about the people who still wouldn’t welcome people of other cultures if they were vetted to within an inch of their lives, if there was a million free houses and a million vacancies to fill in the workplace. Niall a perfect example with that teacher from Wales, she’s clearly vetted if she’s working with children, paying her taxes and contributing to society but he still told her to go home. I’m aware we’ve always had medical professionals from other countries, I used to work in that setting and believe me there are plenty who wouldn’t let a “foreign” doctor touch them and yes I’d call them racist and far right. Don’t know how else to explain it without my brain melting
