In the house he bought! It's just in very poor taste. Her husband lying in a hospital bed & she's having a party. Has she not had enough parties ( hens, multiple wedding days) in recent weeks ?
And it should be their first Christmas in their new home. I'd find it hard to see how most partners would be in the mood for a piss up when their partner in hospital for Christmas

She could easily just go over home to her own family & have a night off from being a sesh moth!

I so agree! Little miss sunshine is so selfish! I know I couldn’t do it either would be so unfair. Stay in the hospital til your asked to leave, grab a Chinese and go home to chill or like you said head to family to switch off for an hour and home. Does she not drive??? Since the taxi man was been praised
