I also went for the free trial, I only tried it because I had no idea what the content was, I ended the trial 30 minutes after starting it, there was fuck all material that interested me. Same thing happened on another free trial a year later.I’m not subscribed anyway and have no intention to. Signed up for the free trial a couple years back and thought the offerings were so bad
Not sure it's quite the same? You wouldn't throw your TV out because you would still want to watch things on BBC, ITV & C4.....I’m not going to cancel Netflix because they show some things I’m not interested in, just like I don’t throw my tv away because channel 5 air lots of shit I don’t want to subject myself to.
I get your logic, but it's not really the same.I’m sure people don’t bin their TV when they don’t like Emmerdale - just watch something else
Sorry to sound like a stuck record.....but it really isn't like that.It would be like not wanting to watch ITV because you didn't like emmerdale. But I like corrie and the itv dramas so ill just not watch emmerdale.
I never said it was shit, I quite like emmerdale. But it is like boycotting a channel because there are aspects that you don't like. I can't comment on cuties as I've not seen it just read the hysteria on twitter. Regardless there is more I like on Netflix then I dislike so i shall continue to subscribe to itSorry to sound like a stuck record.....but it really isn't like that.
Boycotting Emmerdale because the storylines are sh1t cannot be compared to boycotting Netflix because they broadcast a program that shows and exploits the sexualisation of children.....
It’s nothing like that though.I never said it was shit, I quite like emmerdale. But it is like boycotting a channel because there are aspects that you don't like. I can't comment on cuties as I've not seen it just read the hysteria on twitter. Regardless there is more I like on Netflix then I dislike so i shall continue to subscribe to it
I never said anything about throwing a TV away. I said it's like avoiding a TV service for some of its content. Which Netflix and itv are. It’s nothing like that though.
Lots of people cancelled their TV licenses and stopped watching the BBC when the Jimmy Saville scandal came out. Because they were making a stand against rampant child abuse and cover ups. They didn’t throw their tellies out as other channels are available.
People have boycotted sports direct because of how they treat their employees. But they didn't stop shopping, because other shops are available.
If Netflix has gone against your moral compass, cancelling it is not the same as throwing out your tv.....
Yeah Someone else said that....I never said anything about throwing a TV away. I said it's like avoiding a TV service for some of its content. Which Netflix and itv are.
No I said itv. We shall agree to disagree as I can't see the differenceYeah Someone else said that....
You said it’d be like “not wanting to watch tv”
But again, not the same
Fair enough...No I said itv. We shall agree to disagree as I can't see the difference
I didn't directly compare the two programmes. I used emmerdale as an example to illustrate of not liking a programme (for whatever reasons) and boycotting a whole channel as a result of that. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.Fair enough...
But you still can’t compare “not liking Emmerdale” to People not liking Cuties
No you were clear! Sorry if I’m coming across of accusing you otherwise!I didn't directly compare the two programmes. I used emmerdale as an example to illustrate of not liking a programme (for whatever reasons) and boycotting a whole channel as a result of that. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
Ok. Like I said I haven't watched cuties, just read the different arguments around it and for that reason I'm happy to continue my subscription to Netflix. No you were clear! Sorry if I’m coming across of accusing you otherwise!
Maybe I’m the one not being clear.
But the scope between not liking programmes for “whatever reason” is massive.
Not liking a program because it’s just not your kind of programme is completely different to not liking a programme because it supports child sexualisation.
To me, one wouldn’t warrant boycotting a channel, another one would.....which is why I don’t think it’s the same.
Assuming you're talking about Cuties - have you actually watched it?boycotting Netflix because they broadcast a program that shows and exploits the sexualisation of children.....
