I’m not subscribed anyway and have no intention to. Signed up for the free trial a couple years back and thought the offerings were so bad
I also went for the free trial, I only tried it because I had no idea what the content was, I ended the trial 30 minutes after starting it, there was fuck all material that interested me. Same thing happened on another free trial a year later.

Agree with a lot of people on here, I won’t be watching as there’s loads of other things on that I actually watch!

I’m sure people don’t bin their TV when they don’t like Emmerdale - just watch something else.

I honestly don’t understand why people get their back up about Harry and Meghan to be honest 😂 you’d think that society are being forced to hate them to take the scent off someone like Prince Andrew being a pedophile.

Oh wait 🌝

I’m not going to cancel Netflix because they show some things I’m not interested in, just like I don’t throw my tv away because channel 5 air lots of shit I don’t want to subject myself to.
Not sure it's quite the same? You wouldn't throw your TV out because you would still want to watch things on BBC, ITV & C4.....

I get your logic, but it's not really the same.

Not liking Emmerdale can't really be compared to not liking Netflix who show children being exploited.....

Plus your TV contains completely different channels. Netflix is Netflix.

It would be like not wanting to watch ITV because you didn't like emmerdale. But I like corrie and the itv dramas so ill just not watch emmerdale.
Sorry to sound like a stuck record.....but it really isn't like that.

Boycotting Emmerdale because the storylines are sh1t cannot be compared to boycotting Netflix because they broadcast a program that shows and exploits the sexualisation of children.....

I don't get why meghan get's all the backlash. She's gone from the side streets of the valleys, to yachts to then bagging British royalty and managed to turn someone against his whole life. It's kinda impressive. Him on the other hand, oh dear

This netflix stuff will probably be years away before they actually start using their private life and anything interesting.

I never said it was shit, I quite like emmerdale. But it is like boycotting a channel because there are aspects that you don't like. I can't comment on cuties as I've not seen it just read the hysteria on twitter. Regardless there is more I like on Netflix then I dislike so i shall continue to subscribe to it

It’s nothing like that though.

Lots of people cancelled their TV licenses and stopped watching the BBC when the Jimmy Saville scandal came out. Because they were making a stand against rampant child abuse and cover ups. They didn’t throw their tellies out as other channels are available.

People have boycotted sports direct because of how they treat their employees. But they didn't stop shopping, because other shops are available.

If having an array of programs is more important to you than making a stand against a business that supports child exploitation/sexualisation, that’s your choice and your right. We are all guilty of supporting shady businesses in one way or another. Like I said, my husband won’t cancel it either. So no judgement from me.

But it’s absolutely not the same as throwing your tv out because you don’t like Emmerdale...

If Netflix has gone against your moral compass, cancelling it is not the same as throwing out your tv.....
I never said anything about throwing a TV away. I said it's like avoiding a TV service for some of its content. Which Netflix and itv are.

I cancelled my subscription. No way am I having any part in people making money out of exploiting children or supporting paedophilia.

Fair enough...

But you still can’t compare “not liking Emmerdale” to People not liking Cuties 😁
I didn't directly compare the two programmes. I used emmerdale as an example to illustrate of not liking a programme (for whatever reasons) and boycotting a whole channel as a result of that. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

No you were clear! Sorry if I’m coming across of accusing you otherwise!

Maybe I’m the one not being clear.

But the scope between not liking programmes for “whatever reason” is massive.

Not liking a program because it’s just not your kind of programme is completely different to not liking a programme because it supports child sexualisation.

To me, one wouldn’t warrant boycotting a channel, another one would.....which is why I don’t think it’s the same.

Ok. Like I said I haven't watched cuties, just read the different arguments around it and for that reason I'm happy to continue my subscription to Netflix.

Not at all. I don't have an unhealthy hatred of Meghan. And as for Cuties, I'd not heard of it, but have just read a very objective, intelligent review by Empire (who's film reviews I've always respected) and can deduce that it appears to be a piece of work that is potentially open to misinterpretation. I doubt I'll make the time to watch it, but certainly won't get outraged when I've not made the time to try and understand the message it's aiming to convey and make my own mind up 🙂
