Nepo Babies

Did anyone watch Gladiators with Bradley and Barney Walsh? Barney was painful to watch, absolutely no presenting skills whatsoever, yet managed to snag a big prime time BBC show because of his dad 🤷

On the flip side, you've got the author Joe Hill, he's Stephen King's son but apparently didn't even tell his agent until he'd been with them for about ten years. He made a choice to not build a career off his dad's name.

I have a question about one of the Paltrow children but I don't know where is a safe space to ask it because I think the fact that I speculate about it, even in my own head makes me seem like a pretty bad person.

Agree with you on the Gallagher kids - Liam's kids being wee bullies online and calling Anais ugly was pretty gross and indicative of their characters and upbringing.

Lily-Rose is gorgeous though. She's got no business being on the catwalk at her height, but I think she's a good editorial model.

Trap was absolutely tit,probably M.Night's worst film.His Daughter actually has a lovely voice, but she can't act her way out of a paper bag.His other daughter directed quite a few episodes of Servant,the show he created/produced. He's been pushing both of their careers for a while.

It was absolute tripe. Such a shame because I love Josh Hartnett and I’m glad to see he’s back on screen, but there were so many plot holes. I mostly enjoy Shyamalan’s films, even the silly ones like Old and don’t take them too seriously because he’s the master of the enjoyable B movie but this one was just…crap. And she wasn’t even the worst thing about it.

I wouldn’t say she was gorgeous tbh, although that’s just my opinion obviously. If she wasn’t wealthy with all that comes with it, I don’t think she’d be turning heads in the street and she definitely doesn’t have the ‘it’ factor. I guess I’m just sick of seeing the next generation of the same faces - Jude Law’s son, Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Johnny Depp’s daughter, Don Johnson’s daughter, Keith Allen’s kids (and on and on and on). It’s like royal inbreeding. I know he’s divisive, but at least someone like Barry Keoghan has an interesting ‘new’ face and actual talent and he did it without a privileged background, something that’s rare these days. I’d rather see one of him than ten nepo babies.

And Bradley got him a cushy part in Casualty too! I assume Bradley agreed to do Blankety Blank for the BBC with the condition that they hired Barney as well? Just seems too much of a coincidence that he's suddenly getting all these Saturday night prime time jobs at once!

The revival of Blankety Blank started long before Gladiators and his part in Casualty though . I think he just got them off the back of that travel programme they do together. I’ve never watched it but it’s popular
 
I think the problem now is the content farm. Instead of nepo babies these families used to be called 'dynasties', Brolins, Hestons, Jamie Lee Curtis, etc etc but they were all still talented and it was competitive for roles. Now with a million streaming services desperate for content it's a lot easier to hand these roles over to talentless wannabe kids of the rich and famous because there's more than enough roles to go around. Some of the stuff Netflix pumps out seems more like sophisticated money laundering than any attempt to make a good product.

She should have stuck to modelling then. Apparently Cindy is behind her big push to fame. Kaia’s a nice looking lass with a great body, although compared to Cindy, she still doesn’t have the ‘it’ factor (and her eyes are too close together 😼).

Sunday Rose remind me a bit of Saoirse (sp?) Ronan in those pics. She doesn’t look anything like Nicole though. No doubt she’ll be making her foray into the acting world soon as.
