I only work in a pub but I have to have a wash after every shift cos you get covered in beer and cleaning liquid and food and all sorts it makes you feel grimy I couldn’t imagine working in a care home and not wash after you get in

I have family and friends who work in care and I asked them all and most of them have a shower or a bath and wash their uniforms after getting in
I work in a pub aswell and I Never wear the same outfit two days in a row (it's why ive got 50 pairs of black leggings and 20 of the same top 🤣) my mum works in a hospital and always wears a clean uniform every day (and it's washed on a hot wash seperate to anything else)and she comes home and goes to work in a completely different outfit, trousers, shoes everything.

Why are people trying to say she has a Yorkshire sense of humour that other people don’t get? I’m from Yorkshire and I think she’s a bleep 🤣
Same! She's giving us a bad name!

When I worked in a bar it was a rule, in the health and safety training, that you had to have a shower before you came on shift. I once had to fire someone for their lack of hygiene and I had to give someone else a warning because they had BO. Hygiene is important, no one wants to be able to smell BO and dirt while they're on a night out.

Imagine being a little old dear, needing a bit of help and that stinking, cheesy heifer comes in with his great, unwashed body and tabard, I'd rather not, thanks.

I work from home and I have a stand up wash at the sink each morning, it takes about 10 minutes (I shower each evening) so not having a shower is no excuse, in my eyes. It isn't expensive to fill a sink or buy soap, nor does it take much time and he hasn't got long hair to wash or dry, either. No excuse for uncleanliness

Carrying on from the last thread as it's locked; I work in a care home and do night shifts (typically 4/5 a month) and we have to do deep cleaning tasks during the night shifts as well as looking after our residents. If we had a cleaner at my place, I wouldn't have much to do for the 11 hours (the residents I support are currently very chilled at night).
It was the same when I used to work in care, once we’d settled the residents in to bed we had to tackle the cleaning jobs that the housekeeper couldn’t do during the day with people being up and about.

Apparently doesn't turn comments off.....
