Most crèches have waiting lists, especially for younger kids and if you don’t take a space when it’s offered you lose it. It’s hard to get a place in Crèche for wan baby and it’s nearly impossible for two. She probably had them on the list before they were born…

I could be wrong but I thought she was asking for childcare recommendations a couple of months back.

If she gets free childcare, I’m emigrating! She had a job and chose to leave it and chose to implant not on but two embryos. And the state is rewarding her by giving her two free childcare spots when it took me 18 months to get one.. which costs €1250 per month. I’m sick of ppl choosing to do feck all and getting rewarded for it.

And I have no issue with benefits for genuine ppl. I lost my job yrs ago and claimed the dole for 2 months before finding another job. I also claim sick pay from social welfare if I’m off sick but I never ever milk the system.

I bet the free childcare thing is means tested and she’s put herself down as unemployed, paying rent and no mention of mammy and daddy living with her. I hope if she’s lying on the forms that she gets done for fraud and gets a nice big fine.

You are going to be emigrating so! As far as I know if you work or study at all you get 45 hours free childcare if you’re a single parent.. I could be wrong but according to a friend of mine she gets 45 hours free because she’s a single parent and works, if she was to stop working she would get 20 hours

If you work full time you can get up to 45 hours subsidised, not free (unless its been communicated/packaged a particular way to your friend). For example if the NCS awards you 2 euro per hour, you get 45 x 2 off your weekly rate. You still have to pay the balance to the creche. The min you can get is 50c off per hour (changing to 1.40) if you earn 'too much'. When being awarded, they do take single status into account but ultimately its down to the household income and whether the creche even participates in the NCS scheme. I'm single, on a good enough salary, and im paying more than a some married couples I know. We singles dont get free childcare. Unless someone is lying to me 😁

Unless free childcare applies to unemployed or job seekers?? Would be curious about that and if that exists...

I know she gets hers 100% free so maybe it depends on the hourly fee the Creche charges, hers might cost less than yours so the NCS covers it all, I’m not sure but I know she doesn’t pay a penny and she works full time

Perhaps that's it alright. Fair play if she gets that, I'd love that myself (wouldn't we all). I just wanted to make the point that not all single parents are entitled to free childcare. Really depends on the circumstance, the salary and, to your point, what the creche charges.

It’s single UNEMPLOYED that get it

A few of my good friends are single mums (by choice and not by choice). I wouldn’t begrudge anyone getting a helping hand from the govt… but I think when ppl get stuff 100% free, they don’t put any value on it. If she starts earning an income, a percentage of her wages should pay towards the Creche. Same for everyone.

She has quite a unique situation in that she chose to be a single mum and she is still living with her parents so presumably pays little or no bills and mortgage/rent so in my opinion, she shouldn’t be handed a free childcare spot when they’re like gold dust right now.

I’m off to pack.. I did say I’d emigrate, didn’t I!!

Another bloody GFM page!!!! she’s just an advertisement for them now!!! did she ever donate to her brother? What was the final total for him I wonder?! I’d say something if she gave actual updates on the GFM pages but she shares, doesn’t bother donating and that’s it!
That's a bit harsh.
That little boy from Galway has cancer and his parents looking for help to pay to allow them stay in Dublin when he's getting treatment. Even if she is only advertising I won't begrudge that

What in the name of Jesus Christ is on that plate? It looks like vomit 🤢
Looks like chocolate weetabix tbh! And the size of the portion.
she wants to raise intuitive eaters how about starting with small portions and let them ask for more? She’s not got a clue.
I also think there needs to be some regulation around women who decide to do IVF solo and still be entitled to ALL the benefits and allowances. I don’t know how it would work and I understand there are genuine single mothers. ButLisa lives with her parents, left her job and chose to have two babies. I genuinely struggle to understand how if she’s had the money to go through the whole IVF process etc why she should be entitled to benefits as well.
Myself and my husband both work full time, zero chance of getting our two into a crèche so we have to pay 1300 a month to a private childminder.
