In a baby names thread:

I know I’ve said it before but the baby thread is my fav place because the biggest witches of MN come out from under their rock to give their opinion.

MN only allow ‘classic’ names for babies….anything remotely 20th/21st century is deemed low class or trashy they love the term down market too.

They fall over themselves to prove how educated and cultured they are by their baby name choices.

They are absolute fantasists who play out what should be an acceptable baby name if their DH had a six figure salary and lived in the Home Counties and went skiing over Christmas and shopped in Waitrose and bought their sack dresses from Toast.

I have my baby name list and I can safely say MN hate most of my choices (which I take comfort in)

As Grayson Perry has said taste is just perception

The pettiness! Imagine begrudging someone who doesn't work (and therefore possibly doesn't have money to spare) their dinner and a partial bottle of vodka, at Christmas. Now imagine being the parent that has to tell their child off for it, because his partner is an uptight prejudiced cowbag who is old enough to know better. Embarrassed for her. Don't invite someone you're not prepared to take as you find them.

Yes, there are freeloading scroungers out there who will take advantage of you, but also it does kind of go with the territory if you a) host and b) host your kids.
