Muddlethroughmummy #2 Team Andy

The really sad thing is that most children are intuitive eaters. I remember my daughter used to put down half a biscuit because she’d had enough. Daisy is training that out of her kids. I was always quite stingy in terms of junk food and sweets with my kids but they always had a choice of healthy nutritious food laid on the table to help themselves to at dinner time.

That’s just pure laziness on her part. Her kids do eat proper food so why not cook it? Doesn’t matter what it is even if it’s nuggets they need actual food not a snack

I was in her live and it took her a good 25 minutes of faffing about making the batches or pancakes etc so she did have the time to make something a bit more appetising! (The pancakes were cooked in two sprays of that spray oil stuff!) The boys were watching a film and didn’t disturb her once (when I’m cooking it’s with a kid round my ankles!)

when she was showing the plate she said ‘that pretty much covers the food groups’ ok it’s fruit and veg and some protein in the yoghurt but not enough protein and no carbs so like others said they will be hungry. Wonder if she lets them snack. And also aside from it being healthy what about taste? Those boys are going to grow up and realise they did like a lot of foods just not the way almond mum cooked them.

She was talking about a takeaway, wanting an Indian but don’t know if she meant she was having that with Andy (could never order takeout and feed them slop!)

My 3 year old eats more than that it really breaks my heart.
today he’s had a bowl of weekend cereal 🤣
Then he went to nursery and had fruit snack, lunch and “tea” his nana got him at 4:30 he had Apple and peanut butter crisps and yogurt for his snack, I thought great he’s not going to eat his tea, and he’s just had some beef stew and bread granted they are smaller portions, but he’s healthy, not over weight. And granted he may not eat all of everything, but he eats until he’s full. It really upsets me how underfed her kids are

Teaching S how to make macaroni cheese…proudly holds up a bag of fusilli 🫠🙃

and then just pours the cheese sauce over the pasta on a plate , have you ever seen the likes of it 😵‍💫

I can see the ingredients to make 3 meals, though I’ll assume the steaks are just for her & Andy so 2 really; minced beef & noodles and scampi - so the boys are getting 2 meals this week, and the rest of the time just snacks
HOW can this be ok in her head?!

The utter anxiety I feel when my kids don’t eat, I cannot imagine purposely depriving them of food

There’s tofu and prawns as well, but I can’t see the kids eating tofu. I feel like looking at a whole food shop you should be able to see what meals a family are going to put together, but I just don’t really see any meals there

Ah I’d kind of assumed the prawns were for her and Andy on the night the boys were having the scampi, but you’re right could be another meal, I can’t imagine the boys eating prawns either though, she claims they won’t eat anything but rice cakes & random vegetable pancakes so I’d be surprised!
Her food shops baffle me

I’ve had what she refers to as a ‘picky eater’ for a good few years. The food shop she has is not reflective of that. I don’t think either of them are picky. They just don’t want the rubbish she serves up.

My eldest eats prawns and he’s similar age to her oldest but then I’ve let ours explore all foods. There’s no way I’d get away with giving him rice cakes or the other work house slop she feeds to them 🤢
