Wow! The Glassdoor reviews are about the same and VERY detailed. Sounds like a horrible place with a lot of turnover preying on Disney kids with little real-world expeirence who think they found their dream gig. "Paying" them in "experience".

How many different reviews are in each?
Paying in experience? Ha! I worked in audio engineering for years. Go to a recording studio and ask them for a paid entry level job. They'll just say why do that when there's 1000 other people who will work for nothing? I did that myself at a studio for like 6 months. Anything entertainment related will have some kind of shadiness like that because so many people want to do it.

CY/AllEars didn’t even have the decency to publicly wish Molly well with her new venture (although I assume they didn’t want to draw attention to her leaving/new channel). But I bet they’ve made her the poster girl for success for new hires.

“Look, forget the pay; work here and one day you’ll end up with your own channel and $30,000+ a month! (Except we’ll make sure we don’t duck up again and add a non-compete clause in your contract xoxo.)”

I did the same thing. Went to recording school got an internship tried to turn it into a job and ended up going to work for the manufacturing side of the industry where I worked 40 hours and got a check every 2 weeks. 70% of my coworkers were former engineers and front of house guys. Some with impressive credits too.

glassdoor had 11 reviews all similarand while I get the ”pay your dues” thing is seems like cambrick disregarded the fact they had humans working for them. Many reports of denied PTO, 12+ hour workdays with constant checking in via slack during downtime, etc… you kind of have to work tit jobs to hone some skills but there’s no reason to be treated like a dog and have unrealistic expectations with bait and switch goals.

Why would they wish her well? From the way things happened, it seems she left because she didn't like it there (and arguably cultivating people with Max on his Twitch and on IG under her own branding). What would they say, "Molly, you hate us and have been grabbing people elsewhere, do that some more"?

I worked as an intern at a studio, some days I'd start at noon and leave at 5am the next morning. Once a session starts, you're there until the producer decides they're done for the day. That was for no money and I still had a part time job elsewhere for money. I then went into theatre for about 15 years. Running shows was fun and the shows were great, but tech weeks could be brutal. Actors have either a 12 hour or 10 hour day, and we have to be there before and after that, dependent on what we had to get done.

NOT standing up for AJ or that company, but I'm not about to take company reviews on Glassdoor etc as factual. There are a lot of subjective opinions in those reviews. Also possible one retaliative ex employee might be blasting bad reviews out there.

When the company is larger and the bad reviews start numbering in the hundreds to thousands, that I take as a sign to run away.

You have a point but one thing I find odd is that they are constantly hiring. It’s rare that a small company like that actively advertises open positions on their website. I’ve worked for several companies from 5-20 employees and the rare time there was an opening it was generally filled via word of mouth/networking.

so I feel like the high turnover proves some aspects of those reviews as true. I’m sure they could be embellished or one person’s sole experience but let’s be real. Small companies have no HR, tit for management usually the owner is the manager, since it’s small they expect people to do more than at a larger company, etc… I’ve seen similar things with my own eyes. That, and Gen Z/younger millennials have different views about how a work environment should be compared to how us older folks have actually dealt with for years. So, there’s that too. But I do understand that now with the advent of Teams and Slack, some companies expect you to be present when you are having personal time.

Do you think AJ/CY’s ties to Disney media is what limits their content to only focus on the Disney and Universal parks and resorts? Especially when the discourse on staying off property has been pretty large the past few years and even more so the past few months.

I get feeling their need to be loyal to Disney but I’d guess more than 80% of Orlando vacation planners will be trying to plan to not spend 100% of their time and money at overpriced Disney establishments. Some solid videos on good value experiences outside of the parks could do pretty well for them if they promote it the right ways.

I'll create one, or try. Just need a nifty title. Was toying with "The real challenges are at the office"
Oh, no worries, that's not what I meant at all. :) I just hate AJ and Quincy as much as I hate Molly :ROFLMAO: and the discussion reminded me about the thread for AE/DFB that I thought someone made. I wanted to find it to get all the good tea lol.

Wait when I saw they were having an award show I thought it was gonna be their viewers picking their favorite stuff and Disney, Universal, etc…apparently the award show is just all about Mammoth Club? Picking your favorite Mammoth Club episodes or something? Wow that’s really cringe. Oh and I still think the name Mammoth Club is horrible.

My favorite would have to be in the future: The day the stans wake up or get hobbies.

Edit: Day in the future: MAM, we present you the prestigious "Don't Let The Door Hit You Award"......

Not sure why they thought this was a good idea. The views will tell them which videos are the most popular, so no need for votes.
They want to do a run down of the viewer's favorite videos from the past year, sure, but don't give them awards. 🤦‍♀️
