Yep - I think you’ve just about covered it!! It will be interesting to see how influencer culture pans out given the global post pandemic economy.

It’s interesting that influencer culture initially took hold in part because young people felt that other idols were too far away from them and that their lives had no relevance.

It is beginning to be now that influencers lives have little relevance - young girls may aspire to be like MM or MG and have endless holidays and endless shopping trips, but it’s as a form of escape - they don’t offer them any skills, or strategies to deal with their day to day lives. I’m fact they’re prey on their insecurities. Given how dreadful the last year has been for this group - I wonder how it will work out. And whether a new influencer group might emerge

I feel like she doesn’t even appreciate anything anymore, I know when I buy something I’m so happy about it because I thought about what I wanted for ages, saved, and I use it as much as possible.

But for her it just seems mundane now? Like no purchase excites her because she’ll get something new tomorrow and it’s a regular occurrence for her

She’s been buying a lot of things recently since Tommy left. I’ve said it before but I believe she uses shopping as a coping mechanism for when she’s down and in this instance it’s because she misses Tommy. She probably feels the need to constantly be buying things as she believes it’s what people follow/subscribe to her for and the constant competition in the influencer world to be the best and look the best. It’s sad really

You could get a decent wardrobe with Key pieces for so much less. All her clothes seem to be trend items like the awful Prada puff coat.

I don't understand why they can't just get a high spec 4 or 5 bedroom detached for the time being, plenty of new builds springing up around Wilmslow and Altrincham and when she finds a mega mansion she likes, it will be a great investment to sell or rent out? Better returns than fake tan surely .

I imagine that at the age of 21 she would have very mixed feelings about that. I think it will be interesting to see how things pan out with Maura in the picture - Tommy’s obviously enjoying himself in the US ( I would have thought a foreign training camp precluded shots but hey ho ) - and we’ve all just heard there’s a new open up from next Monday.

Perhaps MM will be exploring less domestic
options and more fun pursuits

Theres tons of fiat 500 girls like that from my old hometown, who settled down and bought houses with their runty boyfriends at like 19. I think its the ultimate fiat 500 dream.
