Look at her showing off her bleeping complimentary haircut. Influencers are bleeping filth. Flouting off their freebies whilst people have / are losing their jobs due to the pandemic, using food banks to feed their families etc. I am RAGING.

Sorry if I came across as a little aggressive. My friend from school lost her boyfriend to suicide a few months back after he was made redundant because of the pandemic and she’s currently 7 months pregnant and struggling HARD. She deserves the absolute world and more given everything she’s been through and it just makes me lose my faith in humanity that there is actual hard working, deserving people in this world yet they are the ones who struggle whilst people behind their phones all day pouting, posing in the streets in their hideous outfits get free clothing, food, haircuts for doing simply duck all. It usually takes a lot to tip me over the edge but this today is the last straw 😬😬😬😬

Agree this kind of stuff is infuriating, particularly in the current economic context. If ANYONE can afford a haircut (or any of the random crap they get for free) it’s an influencer like Megan. Just pay your way ffs.

I'm so sorry to hear that, so so sad. I hope she can find some solace knowing he still lives on within their baby and she will always have him alongside her even though he's in another being.

It breaks my heart so much knowing everyone who has struggled has probably struggled harder during lowdown, and some people who never have experienced MH issues are now living it.
When I was young I tried to confide in my dad about my severe depression and he laughed his head off and told me it's not real and that I should snap out of it....and now he is in the thick of depression.

Meanwhile these mean girls who have lived a life of privilege are continuing to live a life of privilege and can carry on as normal whilst everyone else around them slowly withers. Sad but true. I hope we can all keep eachother afloat be it kind words from family and friends or via a stranger on a forum, so with all this being said, if anyone needs someone to complain to/get things off their chest, you can message me. I will try to turn your negative into a positive. 🌞

This is what I love about this site. People may think we’re trolls (lol!!!) or whatever else they call us but I genuinely just think we know what the real world is like and can see through everyone’s bullshit 🥰

This is absolutely heartbreaking. Couldn’t agree enough.
there’s so much pain and difficulty in the world at the moment, honestly no one cares about your rank dress weirdly paired with 90s bandana Megan.
If I had her sort of platform or money, I hope I’d so something to help the world, not just pout in the mirror wearing my LV shoes.

i'm so sorry for your friend, wow really hope she's doing ok, that's tough. I think the pandemic has definitely made me look at these influencers differently and assess what's important. I mean there has to be more to life than just free clothes, food, pr-gifted right? sending love to you friend x

@HinchythetwattyGrinchy that's a horrendous situation for your friend to be in, and for those around her to be seeing her go through. Feel free to rage- I would be too.

What influencers don't seem to get now is that nothing is actually free? Megan might not be paying for that haircut, but the people who work at the salon are. The money to cover that free haircut is coming out of their communal pot, so less money to go around for their wages, less money to pay the cleaners, less money to prop them up and keep them going a bit longer if business starts to slow. Likewise all the free clothes, the people at the bottom of these companies are shouldering these costs of the free stuff that gets dished out to influencers.

I don't think she even has to start turning any of this down if she doesn't want to. But why can't she pay a haircut forward? Pay for a cut at that salon and contact a DV charity, ask them to see if there's someone they know of who could really use a treat. Likewise, take the free clothes from a brand you like, but then use some of your piles of money to also buy a few bits from them and give them to a charity that provides clothes for interviews for people. She doesn't even have to commit long term if she doesn't want, but sharing out some of her wealth in this awful time will not only protect jobs at those companies, but also do some good if she chooses to donate things.

Problem is, she's too greedy and selfish. Hoarding all this expensive tit. And only wearing it once down an alley behind her house for her equally greedy sister to take photos of. They are scum

This!! This is SUCH a wonderful idea, and surely not to hard to arrange? She whipped up those Saturday long sleeve tees for the NHS pretty speedily didn't she, so surely she could sort something out to donate to other causes.

@HinchythetwattyGrinchy I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's partner. Don't apologise for raging, it's well and truly justified! 🧡

Over the years i've been influenced massively by the likes of Megan, only ever bought high street stuff but realised i was buying too much (still trying to cut down on buying!) I did a big clear out and rather than sell on ebay and depop i took it all to my local charity (it was great to see some of my pieces hanging in the shop and priced reasonably too! I'm so lucky to be in a position where i still have a full time job, i by no means earn loads of money, but think it's important to try and give back where you can. Saying that though, maybe she does regularly give to charity and just doesn't publicise it, we never know!

Absolutely. I also wonder if we as consumers absorb some of the costs too of all these freebies for influencers? Do the prices set for clothes, meals, haircuts etc. include recouping these losses for the company? I imagine we end up paying for these somewhere along the line too!

Megan once did a charity clothes sale for victims of the Manchester bombing, which really was an incredible thing to do and a huge success. Yet, in the 3 years since, she has never repeated it in aid of other causes. I wonder why...she must have accumulated many more now unwanted clothes in this time which could once again be sold for worthy causes, of which there are so many!!

I read somewhere recently that a lot of charity shop clothes end up in landfill and it's probably more sustainable to sell them on eBay where people are searching for the clothes they want so are more likely to actually use them.

Thing is with Megan's wardrobe and her following, people would be desperate to know which charity shop she had taken them to. They were all asking last time on her clear out video but I don't think she even answered. That way people would be buying something they love and will wear And the charity would make money.

Or she could do a sale again like someone mentioned ^

I too think accepting a free haircut is a bit off. She does loads of advertising for them already. She is "v v" (hahaha sorry I had to) vocal about where she gets her hair done, did that lockdown video with them, shares their posts, documents before and after haircuts. They didn't need to give it to her for the publicity. She was gonna publicise them anyway.

I bet she never turns anything down even if it's utter shite or really not her bag. 😬😬😬😬

She publicises it cause she always gets it for free?

I'm sure she mentioned ages after (atleast a few months had passed) on Twitter (I think, I can't find the tweet at all) that she'd taken them to Prestwich charity shop as there are two near the tram stop. I went down because there was some of her old jackets that I'd love to try on and purchase to support the charity. However, I went round those two charity shops and one or two others nearby and saw nothing that could've been hers. Perhaps they'd all been purchased in the months that passed, but does charity stock stuff move THAT quickly?

Megan has very specific style. I wouldn't say that everyone would've been rushing to buy her stuff if they didn't already know it was hers. Her style is not to everyone's taste. Does anyone remember that awful frog print skirt suit she wore once? As if that would've sold quickly in a North Manchester charity shop 😂 I was sure I'd have seen some of her pieces still in stock but saw nothing of hers. It makes me think she didn't actually give it to charity... but who knows 🤷‍♀️

Maybe by "charity" she means those textile bins you can put old clothes in? I've used them before and I think it's distributed to random charity shops.

Ha yeah maybe. Be interesting to see if she went to a new hairdressers if her mate rob stopped giving her freebies!

She got loads of comments asking which charity shop so some people must really want her stuff? Or they did then at least.

If I remember right her charity sale looked really busy too so there was a lot of girls there wanting her clothes and accessories

Oh, we absolutely do. All those freebies sent out to anyone in the public eye with enough of a following has to be paid for by someone (else)
