Matthew Perry

I wish I hadn't read it. Chandler was always my favourite character and therefore by extension I loved Matthew. Because I made the mistake of thinking he WAS Chandler. Then I read (or rather listened) to 'Friends, Lovers and the big, terrible thing' and I came away actively hating him (Sorry, but that's the truth) because (and yes, I know we shouldn't speak ill of the dead but go back through the thread, it's all there) he definitely didn’t make it easy to like him. And no, I'm not talking about his addictions, that could happen to anyone. I'm talking about his other behaviours.

Behaviours like towards others?

I felt similar when I read about his comment about Keanu Reeves, very disappointed in someone who I just spent the last 25 years imagining was better than that.

I read his book due to work.
Interesting more in what it didn't say or cover IMO. It was very honest but it wasn't at the same time. Sorry for the epigrams. You'd have to read it yourself tbh.
Still not a bad read if you want a bit more back story.

I disliked him after I watched him being rude to Miriam Margoyles on The Graham Norton Show. Horrible man! He couldn’t have been less alike Chandler even if he tried.

I think that they need to be really careful what they say tbh, given that the post mortem was apparently inconclusive and there is a chance that it could be a drug related death. What they say will be out there forever. I think Marta Kauffman and David Crane got it spot on.
that's a good point. do you think they know something the public dont yet and that's why its taking them so long to say something?

My boyfriend woke me up the other morning to tell me. I only started watching friends properly some years ago and it just shows the happiest person is the one struggling. It says on the mirror that he sent his assistant out on a errand and when she came back he was underwater. She managed to pull him up but it was too late.

I think this is why people are so sad, they're mourning Chandler more than/just as much as Matthew. He was an actor playing a part yet people think they're the same person. Ok he was a joker like Chandler but clearly there were differences between them as well. It's hard to seaparate the two when Friends has been such a big part of most of ours lives
