Masterchef UK (Amateurs)

She’s my favourite and I hope she wins. Anyone who has to battle cancer with a young child is a hero to me.

I want the toothy doctor to go, he is smugness personified. Did you see him patting the professional chef on the shoulder and winking at him?!
He’s got sone right Turkey teef on him!

It's bugging me that they kept calling him 'Dr. George' but didn't afford the same respect to Dinta.

The vet is Brin from Bristol (not to be confused with Bryn from Barry). 😉

Both the vet and the two doctors said they hope to have future careers in catering/cooking. Absolutely their prerogative, but I couldn't help thinking that's a lot of medical training going to waste!

I don’t like the comeback this series. I feel like they have an unfair advantage. Although I do like the woman, can’t remember her name but she had dark hair first time and is now blonde. Older lady.

Vera had a bad day but she could have won it. I think it was her only bad dish and I felt so bad for her. Didn’t one of the people judging say they would give her a job?

I thought she’d go a lot further! Seemed they put a lot on the canapés!

I’m really sad Haddy left, she should have stuck to her Gambian food!
I do tend to get annoyed when someone wins by showing no variety in the food they cook, but it does tend to be when people try and do ‘classic French’ cookery that they trip themselves up.

I have to say I did find Hope’s downfall quite amusing. She’d clearly come with the plan of what she’d make in the invention test and couldn’t deviate from it even when it wasn’t working.

I’m always slightly torn when people stick to one cuisine. I do understand the feedback that they’re not venturing outside of their comfort zone and not demonstrating understanding of different flavours and techniques… but I also see the flipside that if their aim is to have a career in food then they are likely to want to specialise in the cuisine they love most. What I find frustrating is when different criteria are used for the contestants, sometimes they get praised for sticking with what they know and sometimes they get pulled up for it.

I guess my real frustration is that it’s unclear how they’re being evaluated and what makes a winner. As someone who works close to recruitment, it irritates me 😂

I’m a few eps behind but Mary being overly lovey with all her huns and darlings and lovelies to the other contestants is doing my nut in.

Disappointed that they don't appear to be doing the mass catering task this series. Swear it's normally done by now
I was expecting that this evening - we have just gone straight to chefs table thing .

The smug doctor plucks his eyebrows
