Cassie was going to hurt Walker after his stupid caused her to trip and land awkwardly on her ankle as they were walking down a set of stairs. It felt like her ankle was on fire and being turn apart at the same time.
Fortunately, Hendo was there to catch her. So it could been much worse.
Cassie hissed in pain as Hendo slipped off her trainer, massaging her foot. “Are you ok, Cass?” He asked.
“Remind me to bench Walker for the next game.” She grunted as some pain shot through her ankle.
Hendo laughed. “We need to get you to medical.”
When he moved pick her up, Cassie froze. “What are you doing?”
“I’ll carry you. It’s easier.”
She sighed, letting him pick her up. His close proximity had an immediate affect on her. He was a beautifully handsome man, funny and kind. She was insanely attracted to him and no matter how hard she tried to ignore that attraction, it just grew and grew, wildly out of control. “I can walk.”
“It’s easier if I carry you.” He secured her in his arms and started walking. “Keep your hold on me.”
Cassie found herself distracted by his face. He had adorable ears and a beautiful smile. He smelled lovely too, even after a day of training he always smelled nice.
“What?” He asked as he noticed her staring.
“Nothing.” She smiled.
“You were staring.”
“You have really cute ears.” Cassie blushed, suddenly wanting the ground to swallow her up.
Hendo stopped and laughed, turning to look at her. Their faces were barely an inch apart and there was a moment of something between them. “My ears?”
“Yeah. They are like elf ears.”
He carried on walking. “You are crazy, Cass.”
Cassie just shrugged. “You’ll get used to it.”
Hendo stayed by Cassie’s side as her ankle was examined by the team doctor. “How’s her ankle, Doc?”
“Sprained.” The doc replied as they wrapped up the ankle. “Get some rest and no standing on it yet.”
“I’m gonna murder Walker.” Cassie hissed as she stood up on one foot, taking the crutch that she was given. “I’m gonna have to be bossy while on my arse.”
“Come on, I’ll carry you to your room.” Hendo swept her up in his arms and carried her off towards her room. "You ok?"
"Fine." That was a lie. She was really not fine. His scent was distraction and his close proximity was doing things to her."
