At least it's all over now, they can all fade into obscurity and we never have to bother with this lot again.

I think for the future CH4 will do a couple of things...
The contestants will be more outrageous and fame hungry. It's the law of diminishing returns along with the requirement of each series having to be bigger and better than everything before. Lots of voiceovers stating '...something which has never been seen before in the history of MAFS'.
The contracts will be tighter (no social media during the show, mandated appearances for the reunion show, stricter non-disclosure agreements etc).

What channel 4 really need to understand is that all we really want is the celeb version 😂

I completely forgot about this show and it’s contestants until I saw the xmas reunion on 4od and stuck it on. Just caught up through this thread and flipping hell haha. If I’d have known this lot were this dramatic off the show I would’ve kept up with them on socials!!

Firstly, I despise Thomas and always have. My opinion of him was cemented after I noticed how aggressive he would get with women in arguments but never had the same level of energy towards the men. Whitney and April may have been problematic or annoying in their own ways but he absolutely bullied them imo. He attacked them mercilessly and constantly went below the belt. After meeting the parents I can see why he is the way he is, he’s been horribly spoiled and coddled his entire life. So in his mind nothing and no one comes before whatever his feelings and impulses are in that current moment.

Its crazy to me that Thomas would accuse Jonathon of being a misogynist when he was the real misogynist the entire time! Jonathon was stupid and annoying but he didn’t deserve to be so intensely ganged up on imo. I also feel like Whitney got an unfair wrap too. She was rude and pathetic with how she dealt with Duka for sure. Like fair enough you don’t find him attractive, but there are better ways to go about it. However, other than that she wasn’t that bad? She mostly stayed in her lane within the group so I never understood why she was labelled the villain of the series when Thomas was right there lmao.

I was sad to see that Jess is struggling with his bullying too post show. She’s another one who I felt got unfairly judged. I don’t know why she was expected to just accept PJ’s profession like that. I wouldn’t want to be married to a stripper either. And it’s not like he was settled and confident in his job, he kept saying it was ‘just for now’, which shows instability imo. I feel like women get punished for having their own set of standards, even when it’s as basic as ‘has his own place, has a stable job’. Baffling.

Moving on to the most problematic man imo, Jordan! Guys like this are honestly terrifying. Atleast crappy guys like Kwame are pretty upfront with their awfulness. Jordan is so fake it’s unreal. I don’t think he’s necessarily a malicious person, but he is fundamentally weak. He just wants to be liked by everyone so he’ll tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear. Then once he feels backed into a corner or too pressurised, he turns nasty. He’s the kind of partner who you’ll be happily living with for 5 years and then one day he’ll pack his bags and leave overnight and you’ll be totally blindsided. He’s not confident or strong enough to live in his truth so he’s wishy washy. You’d constantly get emotional whiplash dealing with him. I hope Chanita totally cuts him off now and moves forward with her life.

I feel like the only emotionally and mentally stable people in this series were Adrian, Chanita, Zoe and Jenna. They weren’t perfect, but they were def the most balanced and reasonable on there. The rest were either fame whores with personality disorders or overly vulnerable people with no self esteem. I think this year was a step up from last year, I couldn’t even finish that one I hated that cast so much haha. But as much as ch4 tries they will never be able to capture the magic of MAFS AUS S6, that was a golden cast. They got the ratio right between the wannabe influencers and the sincere people looking for love.

I still really really despise Thomas. He is a terrible individual.
