I'm convinced that in old seasons on some version of MAFS they couple go to one of their houses and they live there for the season of the show rather than in one place with all the couples... please tell me I haven't imagined this?
They definitely do! USA and UK I feel pretty confident on and I’m sure some series of the aus as well.

One of the early UK ones they definitely did because it was around the start of covid and they had to decide what to do... think only last 2 maybe 3 season on UK MAFS has had same format as Australia one 😊

They definitely do in US ones. That was always something that made it more interesting, deciding whose apartment they would live in, the logistics of going to work every day, working out who paid what etc. It's just not the same with the new format. Don't get me wrong, I am evidently addicted to watching the new ones but it's Love Island with wedding rings these days rather than the social experiment it started out as.

Yea definitely, it’s much more realistic as they’re not in this silly isolated bubble.
I stumbled across a mafs US couple who actually made it work on insta the other day. He was mad keen on her and she seemed to have the serious ick, but they made it after all, and have been together 9 years now. He was really sweet but ott, I think they were called Jaime and Doug.
I also remember that fireman (Jason??) and his blonde gorgeous wife who seemed besotted and he was just bopping around trying to live life just as it was before. Same series I think. Funny how certain couples stick with you 😂

Jason is married to that awful Roxanne Pallett now!!
I love Jaime and Doug!

Noooooo, really? I feel like he wasn’t really a good guy, so maybe they’re well suited!
I just went to nose at his Instagram and apparently he’s no longer on Social media… wonder if he has been banned by Roxanne for sliding into random womens dms… I feel like that would be on brand 😂

I think they use airbnbs a lot on reality shows.
I remember a few years ago now reading sometimes for The Bachelor US hometown dates the production company will rent a house to be the family’s home. I presume because the family didn’t want their house on tv or because it wasn’t suitable for filming?
I know someone who went on Come Dine with Me and used a friend's flat instead of his own. Apparently the producers didn't like 'his aesthetic ' which was them being polite about his housekeeping skills.

That's interesting. Some of the kitchens/homes I've seen on CDWM look like they absolutely honk 🤢 I feel for the contestants when they watch it back and see how their meal was prepared 😅
