The poll is just for fun! Didn't include everyone for obvious reasons.
New couples coming in so no point having a poll about them yet.
In the last one Kristina and Kieran came first, close second were Sacha and Ross. Adam and Polly only couple to get nil point 😂

(Try not to post spoilers even if you think they are common knowledge! There is a dedicated thread)

His head looks like a lightbulb 👀

Just finished watching on plus one.
Lacey's mum reminds me horribly of Jade Goodey's mother Jackiey.
Lacey needs to ignore her mother and sister as it seems to me between them they are quite controlling of her. Putting her and her choices down. Trying to make her feel insecure.
Lacey seems a genuinely kind person.

Omg yes that's exactly who she reminds me of! Just as vile a person if not more.

Hope I got this name right but is ADHD the whole reason Nathan is so damn thick. There's nothing between his ears at all. Reminds me of BIll and Ted. Her mum was wrong when she continued to call jim a Vegan as he's Veggie and asking him to cut the chicken but he was so fucking rude to her. One question why do they not have any food in the fridge for him to eat? Is it brought in by the show?

I have ADD but have a high IQ. Not sure what the actual impact is on intelligence from having ADD/ADHD, but I think he comes across a bit 'blank' because he has a tendency to disengage / switch off, and to be honest, with all that squawking and squealing I'd have switched off too.

I would absolutely be telling that hellish M-i-L to fuck right off.

I don't think it's necessarily anything to do with intelligence levels. It's more likely he has a processing disorder alongside the ADHD. It can affect how you take in and respond to information. He did make some vague reference to processing things differently in one of the earlier episodes. That and he's in his own world half the time
so it can comes across like he's not with it.

The whole meal set up was strange. It made me wonder why he didn't pop to the shop and get something or even order in for himself.

Also, her mum mentioned a few times she didn't understand banter and those types of interactions. To be completely honest, I felt we were watching a selection of neurodiverse people, all with very different needs, struggle to 'get' each other.

I also don't see that much of a connection between Lacey and Nathan. They seem happy enough but there's something missing. It's hard to judge though I suppose, given we don't see that much of their interactions.

Lacey and Nathan is definitely looking like him just existing there and once it's over he will not be present with her. There's no chemistry they tolerate eachother but have no natural chemistry just trying to make it work which is admirable.

Lacey’s family 👀 Run Nathan RUN!
In fact get that man whole new identity immediately they are terrifying, the way they all acted like it was totally normal for the mother to break down over his comment about her shit food, that’s not normal behaviour he needs protecting from them he deserves better!
They are both on the attack.
I couldn't stop laughing when the mum made out it was a bit difficult not knowing what to make in the future if he came by for tea 😆

Knock knock 😴 Just buy for chicken fajitas and leave the chicken out for nathan👌 GOT IT?!?!

They both definitely like to remind Lacey of a childhood incident where Paige was deemed prettier. Years ago stop reminding her ladies :rolleyes:o_O

My husband is diagnosed with autism. He comes across as “rude” when meeting new people because he struggles to process and talk so he goes into himself. If you ask him a question it takes a while for him to respond because he likes to think about it first. Drives me fucking insane as I have adhd and answer without thinking 😂

Funny really because he looks so much like Caspar too 😂😩

Also, seeing them at dinner, I don't actually think her sister is more attractive? Like not really at all.
She's just more petite!

I will get a vibe about new people. If I'm interested, I'll engage, but cautiously at first.
If I don't get an instant good feeling, I totally switch off and don't engage at all. If it's a friend or acquaintance of someone I know, I would be civil, but wouldnt bother with conversation.
I can't even tolerate small talk with my loved ones.
At times like Christmas, if there's a family get-together, I'll go early and as soon as a lot of people arrive, I leave. I just can't process it all.
I don't struggle to formulate an answer, I just don't see the point if it's someone I'm not interested in getting to know.

Lacey's mother strikes me as the kind who absolutely gets banter so long as she's giving it out and not on the receiving end. I also think Lacey seems much nicer when she's not been around her. She's quite softly spoken and more gentle, definitely nicer to Nathan. I'd have thought Holly was a better fit for that family, as a daughter not a partner, although I can't see her pandering to the mother's attention seeking drama in the same way.

When Nathan was first on, I admit I thought he was a pretty face but dim and vacuous. There's been a slow realisation on my part that he's perceptive and possibly smart, but not good in the loud and busy situations and not quick at processing information and being able to then formulate a response in the best way. I absolutely loved it when he asked Adam was it? if he thought he was superficial.

Wasn’t the whole point of them being matched was because Lacey’s twin has ADHD and so does Nathan so there would be an understanding. Her mum seems the least understanding of anyone.
Also if someone I’m not keen on is quizzing me, I don’t open up at all. I’d be the same as Nathan. I wouldn’t be proving myself when someone was talking to me like that. When she asked him what he thought of her sister, the mum would have moaned if he didn’t say she was beautiful. As if he’s going to say ‘she’s alright’ nothing special. I think in that moment he was trying to say what is socially expected.

I think Lacey would have been better matched with Ross, Alex or Orson. I think she wants someone with more bravado and is more about what they say than what they do. Nathan shows his love through actions and seems really sweet and agree, he seems more perceptive than some. Lacey’s mum was a nightmare growing up. You could see that when she cried and they both jumped up to console her. I bet it was her mum who compared the twins and said one more attractive than the other.

What’s strange is how Lacey has said multiple times now how most men in her life have only complimented her on her looks or her body and said she knows she has a good body but I thought the whole point of her sob story (they all have one I mean) is that she never felt attractive and people always say her sister is prettier. Which one is it.

Yes the sister was prettier years ago but I think Lacey is prettier now to me.
I'd be giving the family a wide birth they tiptoe around th mother and nurse her feelings and anyone who gets with them it seems they have to change their personality to suit that family.
Why the heck shouldn't hang not crack a joke because the mum is too snesitive. That's who he is and he is just changing up the tension in the room.

They really seem unstable and narc vibes comining from mum and Lacey should recognise her mum and sister that enable her. Nathan is a great guy for her but she is not for him.
Glad to see she had his back a bit but I don't think the mum is glad as she likes the daughters fussing over her and pleasing her. I wonder if she was playing the daughters off eschother growing up if that's how she treats Laceys new man. 🤔
