When I was growing up there was a mother and daughter who lived two doors down from us, they were together 24 hours a day went everywhere together the daughter even dressed really old fashioned just like her mother she moved out after her mother passed but by the she was in her sixties and had no life away from home, this is how Peggy is going to turn out if she doesn't break free

I don't know about the older format for the UK version, but my wife loves the Australian one, you do get to see more of the couples' actual relationship, living together etc.
This latest UK one just seems to contain a few attention-seekers looking to be big on Instagram or whatever.
I'm sure the original UK one used to use more science to match them up, they got to sniff little cards with their scent on to see if they were attracted to their pheromones. Or have I confused this with a different programme 🤷🏾‍♀️

If I remember well in previous series they got legally married and actually stayed at one of the couples houses. It was more like a docu series following each couple rather than a reality show. I don’t think the couples met at all as a group up or until the end.

I vaguely remember some still doing their day jobs etc and seeing in their houses.

I’m watching home stays at the moment and why is Peggy’s dad acting like this is a job interview? You can see he’s an awful, horrible man just from the few minutes he’s on screen. The only way Peggy will find a rich man to keep her is if she finds one that is as awful as her father is that no other woman wants and she puts up and shuts up about their attitude. Any nice & attractive man who’s worth being married to could find a woman with her own personality that doesn’t come with the baggage of a horrible family.

Yeah they even had a vicar help love match them. None of the couples met up they just went back to their normal lives after the honeymoon and saw how they fitted in with each others lives and families. I remember the big scandal one of the guys was caught on a dating app, after the wife's friend spotted him.

Well, I think we all understand now why Peggy has refused to have sex with her "husband". She wouldn't want mummy and daddy to be displeased.

Particularly as the dad is unlikely to make old bones by the look of him.

Yep, no dinner parties, created dramas or everyone meeting up, just observational filming to see how they worked things out together. And it was brilliant. Ahhh the good old days 🙄

There were still terrible matches, I remember the one with guy who had a dog matched with someone who hated dogs 🙈 Felt so sorry for the poor bloody dog!
