TBF a lot of blokes do do abrupt U turns on that particular issue. I used to work with a woman who was with her partner for 15 years. He insisted he didn't want either marriage or children. She wanted both but stayed with him regardless. He dumped her right before her 40th birthday and within 6 months he was shacked up with another woman who then rapidly had three of his babies, and who he then married.
