I wonder what the show does from a safeguarding point of view. The camera crew leave after a certain time. How can they be sure that a man who has a temper and dislikes the woman he's alone with, won't do something? A guy from an overseas Big Brother series has been found guilty of raping a contestant whilst they were unconscious - and on BB they have cameras everywhere!!

Definitely agree about lack of overall safeguarding. The need for a clear duty of care for me is huge - they have been demonstrating ?5 people who have directly caused emotional harm to their partner without consequence, and there is development of the Harrison story line with toxic behaviour to his partner as well as to others who have tried to speak up for her (yes she’s a lost cause but in reality it’s a dangerous depiction of how you can behave and manipulate someone). Equally, if I’m being naive and it’s all an ‘act’ from these few then there is a duty of care in the editing to not make these people come out of it to international disgrace.

This thread is such a bloody joy to read. I’ve just caught up. Whoremon was, predictably, a psycho. Hunkan needs to run for the hills, he deserves better than her manipulative, lying, abusive tit.
I’m starting to feel uneasy about Mel and Harrison. I may be way off base but Layton, seemingly out of nowhere, was SO jealous and Mel, despite going on (and on and on) about loyalty previously (rightly, I’d say) didn’t have his back in the same way in front of Harrison. Does Layton know something or see something we haven’t seen, or been shown? I’d like to think she isn’t interested in the conniving, smirking, red-faced twit but he is most certainly interested in her…

I have been lurking on this thread having started watching this season fairly recently. I have been watching earlier episodes to catch up on the claire/Jesse thing, but it has also given me some background on Bronte and Harrison.

Jesse & Claire-both as bad as one another. Jesse was a complete knob at the beginning, and I was on team Claire then. But she lost me after Jesse had opened up to her about his trust issues and why he never chases "chicks" (I will ignore the misogyny right there). According to the edit, AFTER this heart to heart, Claire went out and disappeared with/called Adam (if that was his name) and then lied yo him, and yes GASLIT Jesse (in the true sense of the word), denied it and deflected, and only later on, admitted it. They were not compatible and both pretty vile.

Bronte/Harrison- yes Harrison is a narcissistic C you next Tuesday. That is obvious. But having watched Bronte in the earlier episodes, I really think she isn't into him, she just wants followers, and is leading him on and out for revenge against Harrison. She can't confide her intentions to anyone though, because one of the girls would tell their partner and she would be rumbled. My reasons for this are because Bronte is not behaving like I would expect her to if she really was being coercivelly controlled by Harrison. There are no tears, no vulnerability, and although she is defensive she at no point defends Harrison or makes excuses for him. She just coldly shrugs and says "I married Harrison, not you". Se comes accross as very calculating and strategic to me.

Alyssa, -can't abide her. If she was genuine in her fears and neediness, she would lap up Duncan's attempts to reassure her and ask for hugs. That's what needy women do. Instead she rejects him. She definitely has the ick and does not want to be the bad guy who ends it. She wants to play the eternal victim and it's failing. Get in the bin Alyssa.

Just caught up. And if this iconic moment doesn’t go into the MAFSA Hall of Fame I’ll demand a refund!

“You’re acting like a Harrison right now.”
…..“Hey. I’m here.”

And she says it so casually like we say it all the time. Which we will now. Biggest insult ever!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had a real belly laugh at Hey I'm here 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 best line of the series so far - and his face 🤣🤣🤣

Obsessed with the nickname Hunkan 🙏🏻
