Exactly. He’s also now commented on her looks. So you can’t expect people to not defend themselves when attacked just because their an “influencer.” It should be one rule for all, so I don’t think that makes her nasty. Nor do I think looking into why she’s actively discussing black lives matter & racism is right or saying it’s disingenuous, ultimately what matters is she’s proactively discussing it regardless of if her romantic partners are black. and she’s doing more than the likes of Sophia and cinzia and even Hannah if we’re going to be completely honest.
I wasn’t looking into it. I’m not about to sit here and applaud someone for using their platform in a positive way, or because she’s doing more than over influencers. Calling out racists and proactively speaking about injustices of BLM and what’s going on I’m America rn is the bare minimum and what everyone should be doing if you have an ounce of humanity and care about other people. But if you have a platform to raise money for it then that’s great. But I won’t ignore the fact that her YouTube received constant racial abuse towards her fiancée and I barely saw her speaking out about it when that was literally happening on her doorstep. So yeah it seems a bit disingenuous now.

With all due respect, you can’t exactly say she’s showing her true colours because she’s retaliating/defending herself to someone abusing her for no reason and completely unrelated to them? We can’t expect influencers to get abuse and when they defend themselves their portrayed as nasty. They are human also at the end of the day.

THIS. I’m a lurker on this thread and feel a lot of what is said on here are unreasonable reaches, (like suggesting she’s an escort and slating her for having a fling with Jack Fowler - who wouldn’t lol?) that comment calling her nasty for retaliating included. That boy is going in on her still for what? Speaking up and saying she’s no longer working with brands who are silent during the George Floyd situation? Criticise where necessary but as a black fan of hers I’m happy to see her fight our corner, can’t say the same for many other influencers I follow.

Why are you here if you’re a fan? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Am I being really thick? I don't understand what the problem is if a brand doesn't comment on an issue? That doesn't mean they support it, it just perhaps means that they don't comment on news affairs?
I'm completely against racism and all kinds of prejudice...having said that, I don't think I've ever publically tweeted it, does that mean I'm a bad person? I'm confused.

In what way was he racist?

Also do you think one of the brands she's talking about is Oh Polly? I haven't seen them make any comment about whats going on..
She's a ducking pretentious thing. No way was that racist, simply stating the fact a multi million pound company isn't gonna acc care about loosing a girl who isn't anything special. We out here tho

I agree, with regards to influencers as well. It's great that this is receiving widespread & international media coverage, but people are acting like this is the first time something this inhumane/unjust has happened to a person of color. George Floyd is a drop in the ocean of innocent black people that have been a target only because of the color of their skin.

I can be a cynical person, and maybe this is just that coming out, but this just proves to me that all these white influencers posting stories like 'get educated' are so bleeping oblivious, and have been this whole time. I don't respect influencers that are posting about BLM now any more than the ones that aren't doing so - you either speak about a social issue openly on social media, or you don't. You don't post about it when it's trendy to do so because everyone else is. I understand that these women have a platform, but it's also an easy thing to do to be an armchair activist. These Instagram stories aren't necessarily doing enough good to warrant criticism of influencers that don't post them - and can come off as disingenuous.

Of course this is just my highly critical opinion. I'm absolutely not against people spreading awareness of social issues & trying to raise money to combat them. The assumption that person posting an instagram story = them caring about an issue, and not posting a story = not caring about an issue is flawed because most of these people have never spoken up before. It's now the norm to do so, and they're just conforming to it.
