I’ve had the cheese and bacon ones and wasn’t very impressed. They were very salty and the bottom pastry was a bit soggy .
 
I got a couple of the bags of mini pastries last year when I was making breakfast for 14 people and they were a hit!

It's just me and Mr Duck for breakfast this year, and I think we'd both prefer a savoury option! I might just do bacon sandwiches (but I'm going to search for a shove in the oven option - frying bacon is more effort than I want to be doing Christmas morning! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:)

I really like the almond croissants, 15 min on bake in the air fryer and they're good to go. I can't have them in the house or i could eat the whole bag

You could just do that .. throw bacon on tray in oven at about 200c for 10 mins, turning once. Then put on your bread!
 
I don’t know how you all do it. We had a massive queue outside ours yesterday ffs. They were only letting people in to go to clothing or the cafe. I needed to get some spray for the OH for a present and there were people barricading the food hall entrance not letting anyone who hadn’t queued outside, in. We didn’t need any food so I just bought my perfume and maybe a jumper and left.

Why is it like this here? People are crazy, they were parking all out of proper spaces, screaming at each other. Sainsbos looked like those reels from Black Friday. I overheard a staff member saying it was going to get increasingly worse until tomorrow so people here hoping for an early, empty trip have no chance. Anyway. I’ve got my sales stuff on the wish list, ready and waiting.

Admittedly, it wasn't M&S, and Acton, but yesterday I was surprised how quiet Morrisons was. Nothing I wanted was gone and I even got the posh trifle.

To keep on topic, I'm going to try and visit one in Westfield later. Wish me luck!
 
The north east. We’ve been trying to figure out why though. It’s 26 miles to the next food hall south and 14 miles to the nearest one north and no one is going to the metro centre unless they actually need to. Newcastle is currently experiencing so many traffic issues- the metro and major roads have been affected so I think people are staying local. I’ve never seen it like it was yesterday this far from Christmas.

I think the other issue is we don’t have a Waitrose anywhere nearby so if people want that type of food, they go to Marks. We used to have both in our city, long gone now 😞.

I've tried the almond ones from Aldi on Tattle recommendation and they were nice. Also have the chocolate and hazelnut ones but not tried yet.
 
Our M&S was heaving at 7am. It’s a big one in a retail park off M25. Blocked aisles, massive queues for tills with no monitoring, I think the volume of people caught them on the hop a bit. I was in north Wales for Christmas last year and the Parc Llandudno one was beautifully organised with proper roped off queues. I had time to kill before my food collection slot so I joined a queue and watched the carnage. Lots of people were complaining about short use by dates.

Has anyone tried the best ever Yule log yet? I was going to wait until Christmas Eve to try get one reduced as people on TikTok were saying they’re not doing ones with dates past the 25th… Couldn’t find one in the smaller M&S near me but tried a bigger one this morning. They only had 3 and had really good dates (29th) so decided to bite the bullet and pay the money. Please someone tell me I’ve made the right decision 😂

also, I hope the bring back the mini gingerbread biscuits, they’re delicious. Bought the ceramic tin and loved the biscuits inside so stocked up a few weeks ago and now can’t find them anywhere. I originally paid £10 the jar but in one M&S it’s £5, the other £8, either way, bargain, it’s really good quality!

There were some mini gingerbread men biscuits in my local and M and S this weekend - blue bag, £1.50?
 
I've been a busy little bubbles this morning. Did Asda, M&S, Aldi and Lidl and just finished putting it all away. Asda was a tit show, filthy store rubbish all over the floor, empty shelves, apparently they had been replenishing all night, yet I went in at 5am when they opened and most of the shelves looked ransacked 🤷
Next stop was M&S, much more pleasant. A bit of a queue to get in at 6am when they opened and plenty of people who thought they would have a day out food shopping and not knowing where they were going or what they were doing! Got the best ever Yule log, no turkey feast to be seen and a few other bits and pieces. I noticed the merry munch tins and refills show on the app as not stocked at my store along with a few other things I wanted. I do like my revamped local. It may be the one featured on ITV this week and I may have had a chat with the manager 😉👀
Had to make a quick pit stop to Costa after as I needed a coffee to keep me going. Then I popped to the brand new Aldi across from M&S and got fresh gravy and another deli party platter(I've bought 7 various ones now and only have 3 left!). After that I went to the new Lidl and bought a fresh bakery loaf and blood orange Thatchers to try in the slushie machine 😁 Came home and everyone was still asleep, so put it all away and now I'm going to chill until everyone gets up.
