Will this kick this off. Huge sympathy for Lynsey but just don’t agree with unregulated GFMs as seen with other Irish cancer patients who have threads on here. Lynsey received a huge settlement (in the millions) from the Government last year and already had an existing GFM with €90,000 raised that is still open. This is ontop of lots of donations/local fundraisers.

Can a gofund just be set up for anything ? I'm so baffled by this ?
Also if you choose to leave the country should you not by right pay it yourself if yiu have the money?

The amount of the settlement was kept anonymous but I understand some/most of it had to be put into a trust fund for her children for when she is no longer here....
I would imagine the figure would have been 7 figures anyway when you look at what others in a similar situation were awarded.
 
I didn't like the way when the last go fund me was open and she was giving interviews she kept referring to herself as a single mother. Yes I know she is a mother and single however the two girls have fathers who do provide for them. They have regular access with the girls. She pretended the didn't exist till after she got her money..
I'm not begrudging a penny she got to put into fund for the girls, or a penny she spent on her treatment (hse should have funded) but its the lavish spending and then putting her hand out again. Yes she is entitled to treat herself but don't have a second go fund me.

I agree with this... And look, the woman has terminal cancer. If she wants to spend 400k on a house & renovation and 50k on a car, it is her settlement and her choice to splash and enjoy the luxury while she can.

But to then a few months later say the settlement was based on covering Irish treatment costs only and you don't have enough money for treatment abroad... I guess she thought having all the machines at home & treatment in Ireland, she wouldn't need to keep some of that €€€ for more treatment abroad.

And to state how much Mexico would cost (300k) but only state that Germany is "expensive", not explain a breakdown of why the GFM is 250k which is way more than the last GFM which raised 90k... That is the issue with GFM, nothing is transparent or accounted for. And that is why people are annoyed.

Agreed.
If I was in her situation, I would be putting every last penny into prolonging my time with my kids, not living a life of luxury.....
Health is more important than fancy cars and designer handbags!

Yes agreed the children have great supportive fathers that have always been in their lives. And her profile pic has now been changed to her and her girls its like she plays on people's emotions and it has worked till now but the people of longford/lietrim well from the feedback I've heard are not impressed.
Her videos over the past year were influencer like and showing off all her new stuff all her videos so you could see all the expensive furnishings in the background. Even thatnnew dome? They are not cheap along side a post looking for money! That's all good fair play on having a nice house and living your life but don't play the poor mouth then.
If i had children and I knew I was terminally ill I would invest in my health and their future cause you will never get the same value of what she has spent.
Health is tour wealth she should probably have learned that

Those greenhouses start at €1800. Seeing as she has started a new Insta home a/c, I do wonder if it was a freebie... Although that should be declared as such.

I also think the home a/c showing her house & reno journey from last summer (which cost thousands) is poorly timed when it directly coincides with launching a new GFM asking for 250k!

Note: GFM has raised €6500 in less than 24hrs. No obvious donations from all the Insta celebs buds.

I don't fully understand... What are they offering in Mexico & Germany at these healing clinics which are not available in Ireland? And why is it so expensive? Hasn't been explained.

The post has bumped the GFM upto 10k... I'm interested to see how far this goes and how much raised by the GFM could have been covered by the new car or reno cost?

They are alternative treatments. Snake oil sold to desperate people. Watched a prime time show on it before. I guess when your terminal you will try anything. But these are unproven treatments and they are incredibly expensive.
 
Look at Vicky phelan. She's finally decided enough is enough and to try and make the best of the time she has left with her family. No more chasing treatments that keep you from living your life and away from your kids. There is a reason the HSE don't find these faddy type treatments that only really prolong the inevitable. My heart breaks for anyone and their family that have to endure a terminal illness and I thank God that we haven't. I've watched numerous families both publicly known and not so public go through the treatments abroad only for every single one of them to die in the end whilst they were off chasing treatments that only line the pockets of the "scientists" behind them. Like what did lb's treatment in Mexico consist of? And what's this new one in Germany?
 
I really feel for Lynsey and what she is going through but I think 250,000 on prolonging the inevitable is just not right and asking people for donations again is not right , fair enough if she wants to fund this herself but I respected her when she originally said no it wasn’t fair to ask again !! I’m honestly not heartless I’ve lost two very young family members and it’s beyond heartbreaking but this is money wasted in my opinion and not worth leaving her girls when the precious time could be spent with them making memories, I do really wish her well but the GFM just doesn’t sit well with me .
 
Agree with all that has been said. Although Vicky was in the US on a clinical trial whereas Hope4Mexico and this other treatment Lynsey is speaking about in Germany looks to be completely alternative? (Treatment including Colonic irrigation, infrared saunas etc. etc.). If she wants to go off and try alternative treatment then it absolutely should be funded from her own pocket after all the money she has already received. Have any of the Insta Huns Sinead heg, Siobhan o Hagan or her bestie Una shared the GFM yet? Is she still friends with that dj Marty? Didn’t he go with her to Mexico last year and haven’t seen them together since
